Hi All
I have got the RASP Legacy High Resolution forecasts back on line. I
have migrated the software onto a dedicated VM running on the new hardware.
(It was just a bit of a mission to install an absolute OS and then track
down all of the customisations and extra libraries that had been
accumulated over the years to get it to run).
Plan is to leave it un-touched. I may adjust the forecasts schedule to
what it was before we hit stage 4 to 6 load shedding in 2023, when I had
to make some compromises to the timetable fit runs into hours when
diesel backup was available.
Moving forward I need to get back onto the beta forecasts.
* The first big issue that I notice is that the graphics are titled
"1300 SAST (1300 Z)". I suspect they are actually Zulu (GMT) time,
ie 2 hours earlier than the forecast time. So the 1300 forecasts is
actually for 11AM? This is likely to cause some confusion.
* Then there is still some work over due on the map presentation.
* I need to review which units are used where (km/h, m/s, knots, etc).
Regards
Ian
