What’s happening next week: 14/10/2019 – 20/10/2019

We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Anneke Weber (#5) on 16th October, Rona Siegfried (#50) on 16th October, Brenda Stauch (#37) on 16th October and Colin Levine (#12) on 18th October.

The choice of meal for the Social Dinner on Tuesday, 15 October in the Clubhouse at 6:30pm is a choice of either Roast Gammon with apple puree, roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables OR Salmon Fillet with Hollandaise sauce, asparagus and baby carrots. This will be followed by a Banoffee Pie, tea/coffee. R140pp.  Please book before 12-noon on Monday, 14 October. Bookings can be made with Sheila in the Bistro on Ext 200. Payment can be made on account, cash or credit card. You are very welcome to bring your own wine/refreshments.

Further to requests from residents, our weekly shuttle will now be from 10:00am (Tuesday Mornings). We hope that this will work out better for you. Please remember to reserve your seat with Reception on EXT 300

BISTRO Daily Lunch Specials:
Monday, 14/10         Beef Bourguignon with rice and seasonal vegetables
Tuesday, 15/10        Pork and Apple Pie with gravy, garlic potatoes and seasonal vegetables
Wednesday, 16/10   Chicken, butternut and feta lasagna with salad of the day
Thursday, 17/10       Three Cheese Quiche with chips and salad of the day
Friday, 18/10            Premium Meal: Fried Fish with tartar sauce, fresh lemon, chips and salad of the day

Coming up this week:-

  *   Open Gardens Constantia 2019: Four diverse Constantia gardens each practicing sensible water management. Tickets bought in advance are going at R70 and at the gate, R80 – includes SOZO barista coffee or tea and eats. Event will take place on Saturday, 19 October from 9am till 5pm. Please book with reception on Ext 300. Shuttle available for outing at R30 pp
  *   Sunday Roast Lunch on Sunday, 20 October at 12:30pm. R180pp. Mrs Yvonne Whitford will be preparing Snoek Roulade with horse-radish sauce, followed by Roasted Leg of Lamb, potatoes and seasonal vegetables. And for dessert, Crème Caramel with raspberries and coffee. Please book with Reception on Ext 300 by Thursday, 17 October. Should you require any further information please contact Yvonne Whitford on Ext 114.
  *   Ageless Grace class will take place every Wednesday morning at 10am in the Games Room. R 40pp per class.

Forthcoming events:

  *   Classical Music Evening will be held on Wednesday, 23 October in the clubhouse at 7pm. Felix Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture played by the National Orchestra of France and Rachmninoff’s Piano Concerto No.3 in D minor played by Yuja Wang with the Staatskapelle of Dresden. Hosted by Herman Poelmann. Please book with reception on Ext 300 for seating and catering purposes. Salty snacks will be available and you are welcome to bring your own wine and refreshments.
  *   The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra presents CPO Spectacular, showcase for the brilliant singers, dancers and instrumentalist in our community. This will take place at the Artscape Theatre on Sunday, 20 October at 5pm. For more information or to book, please contact reception on Ext 300.
  *   Bergvliet Pub Night to be held on Friday, 25 October at 6pm. Meet in the clubhouse for our popular social event. Light snacks will be served. Please book at reception for catering purposes or to buy a book of tickets for R100.
  *   Market Day & Craft Display – this will be held on the 12th December at the clubhouse. We will be sending more information during the next few weeks.
  *   Constantiaberg Dance Academy proudly presents Happily Ever After: A ballet production inspired by the all time favourite fairytales. Production will take place on Friday, 25 October and Saturday, 26 October at Bergvliet High School Theatre for R90pp. For more information, please contact reception on Ext 300

National Day Calendar:

  *   Monday, 14 October is National Dessert Day
  *   Tuesday, 15 October is National Boss’s Day
  *   Friday, 18 October is National Chocolate Cupcake Day

Don’t forget to buy your Monthly raffle tickets which are available at reception. The next monthly draw will be held at the regular Social dinner on Tuesday, 29 October.
