What’s happening next week: 26/07/2019 – 01/09/2019

We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Joan Misplon (#35) on 26th August and Tertia Harrod (#13) on 30th August.

Our choice of meal for the Tuesday Social Dinner on Tuesday, 27 August in the Clubhouse at 6:30pm is a choice of Lemon and Herb roasted chicken with red wine jus, roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables OR Seafood Combo: Battered hake and calamari with chips, fresh lemon, tartar sauce and Greek salad. This will be followed with Pavlova and seasonal fruit, tea/coffee. R140pp.  Please book before 12-noon on Monday, 26 August. Bookings can be made with Sheila in the Bistro on Ext 200. Payment can be made on account, cash or credit card. You are very welcome to bring your own wine/refreshments.

Monday, 26/08         Crumbed chicken strips with sweet and sour sauce, potato wedges and salad of the day
Tuesday, 27/08        Tomato Bredie with parsley rice and seasonal vegetables
Wednesday, 28/08   Thai Pork with garlic baby potatoes and seasonal vegetables
Thursday, 29/08       Chicken and Leek pie with gravy, potato wedges and seasonal vegetables
Friday, 30/08            Premium Meal: Fried Fish with tartar sauce, fresh lemon, chips and salad of the day

Coming up this week:-

  *   A presentation on the benefits of Aloe Gel for mature skin will be held in the Clubhouse on Monday, 26 August at 10am. It will be hosted by Barbara from Totally Wild. Totally Wild is a Cape Town based company that specialises in a small range of medicinal type of Aloe juice and organic Aloe gel for the skin. Barbara will be selling Organic Aloe Gel at a special price of R80 per tube. Please book at reception for seating
  *   Bergvliet Pub Night to be held on Friday, 30 August at 6pm. Meet in the clubhouse for our popular social event. Light snacks will be served. Please book at reception for catering purposes or to buy a book of tickets for R100.

Forthcoming events:
- Arbor Week – Evergreen Bergvliet will be celebrating this international day by planting a Podocarpus falcatus (Yellowood) on Wednesday, 4 September at 4pm. Please join us for a glass of wine in the Bistro after the tree planting ceremony.
- Harry Curtis & Friends Concert will be held in the Clubhouse on Friday, 6 September at 7pm. R60pp. Please book and pay at reception. Please note that NO food/snacks will be served. Please ensure that you eat before arriving for the show which starts promptly at 7pm. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments. For more information please contact please Jacky Orton on Ext 131. It promises to be a wonderful evening in good company.
- Movie Night on Saturday, 07 September at 7pm – Humor Me. A lovely story of an aging, widowed father who refuses to engage emotionally with his recently divorced son, who is desperate for approval. Starring Elliot Gould and Jemaine Clement.

Village Housekeeping
- FTTH –  We are at the last phase of this huge project. The installers are working very hard to make sure they meet the deadline. From Monday they will continue fitting the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) box. This devise connects the fibre to your home modem. We are getting close and we now hope to go ‘live’ by the latest 30 August.  Reception or Maintenance will contact you from Monday to have these ONT boxes installed.

Don’t forget to buy your Monthly raffle tickets which are available at reception. The monthly draw will be held at the Social Dinner on Tuesday, 27 August.
