        Dear Residents

Please note that that it is very important for you to inform the office if you are going to be away overnight or for a few days/weeks, not only during the festive season, but at any time.

The failure to cancel the blue button in the morning will be communicated to and investigated by village management. If you are going away overnight, going to visit family or going on holiday and you won't be at home to press your blue button, please advise the management office so that they can make a note of it in their calendars and advise Telecare.

The blue button flashes in the morning between 07:00am - 10:00am, depending on your request. It should be pressed every morning between these times to confirm that you are well and safe.

If the blue button is not pressed during a weekday, Telecare will call the Village Manager in the morning and the following protocol will be implemented:
-           we will call you on your landline and /or cellphone to establish your whereabouts, if there is no response;
-           then we will arrange to get the master key to your house from the safe and investigate if you are in and require assistance or if you are out of the village;
-           if you are not in your home, then the blue button will be switched off and a note left on your Telecare unit for your return.

If the blue button is not pressed during the weekend, Telecare will call the Village Manager in the morning and the following protocol will be implemented:
-           I will call you on your landline and /or cellphone to establish your whereabouts, if there is no response;
-           then I will arrange for the village carer/nurse and a security guard to get the master key to your house from the safe and investigate if you are in and require assistance or if you are out of the village;
-           If you are not in your home, then the blue button will be switched off and a note left on your Telecare unit for your return.

There were a number of incidents this past weekend where residents forgot to press their Blue buttons. We wish to impress upon you the need to take the blue button protocol seriously.
