[Evergreen Muizenberg]

        Dear Resident,

Earlier this year we approached residents through various channels; your residents committee (Rescom), public residents
meetings and the Annual General Meeting regarding a levy for Healthcare and Catering.
The primary reason for this was that our current financial model was not sustainable and as a village we needed to achieve
a balanced budget.

In this communication I will deal specifically with the catering offering.

After months of discussions, negotiating, inviting alternate service providers to quote, we believe we have achieved a 'win-win'
result for the residents, our service provider, Western Province Caterers (WPC), and Evergreen.
There will now be NO catering levy or overhead charge as we have had to pay previously.

A summary of the most important changes I have listed below.


  *   The majority of the food will be prepared off-site at a production kitchen. A fortnight ago a number of Rescom committee

members and the Evergreen MD visited this facility. We all came away impressed with the high standard of hygiene,

cooking methods and the consistent temperature levels during transportation.

  *   The lunch main course menu price will increase from R48.00 to R68.00. While this is a substantial increase, WPC last

increased their menu prices in July 2018, some four years ago. I still believe that even after this price increase this meal

offers 'value for money'

  *   The coffee shop prices will also increase slightly but in essence will remain as is, continuing with the high standard of

service and offering. Hours of service will be from 8 am to 4 pm daily.

  *   Friday 1 September is the date of implementation.
  *   Both the daily and coffee shop menus will be forwarded to you next week.
  *   Special functions, activities and theme evenings that require catering will continue as previously and will be quoted

separately.

The proposed Healthcare levy will be dealt with in a separate communication.
