[Evergreen Muizenberg]

        Good Morning Residents,

I have the inevitable task of informing that we have had a resident test positive for the Covid-19 virus.
The resident complained of a typical covid symptom, shortness of breath, an ambulance was called and the resident was taken to Constantiaberg Mediclinic.
As with normal hospital admission protocols the resident was tested for the virus.

Currently the resident is still in hospital and there has been a slight improvement in their condition.
We have immediately instituted the recognised "tracing" protocol. All the carers that came into contact with the resident are either being tested or have been placed in quarantine.
We are confident that no other residents came into contact with the resident for any extended period of time.

We are naturally extremely disappointed that we are having to report this case of Covid-19. However, it is our
company philosophy to always be transparent and honest with our residents

Our prayers and thoughts are with the resident and their family and we pray for a full and speedy recovery.

You are reminded that should you show any of the typical virus symptoms, such as: -


  *   a sore throat;
  *   a fever or increased temperature;
  *   a dry cough;
  *   body or consistent headaches;
  *   or shortness of breath, please immediately contact the management team by telephone. Please do not contact anyone in person.


I once again appeal to all residents to follow the recognised protocols.


  *   Practice 'social distancing', keep a distance of at least 1.5m between you and your fellow resident.
  *   Wear a face mask, at all times where possible during activities.
  *   Sanitise where ever you go, either by washing your hands frequently or using an alcohol based sanitiser solution.
  *   Avoid potential high 'used' surfaces
  *   Try avoid touching your mouth, eyes or nose.
  *   Cough or sneeze into a disposable tissue, if not available then into the crook of your arm / elbow.
