Our meal offering includes a special of the day and Bistro Menu with a selection of breakfast, toasted sandwiches, cake plus hot and cold beverages.  Please be sure to give us a heads up by 4pm the day before if you would like to order the Daily Special in the bistro. The Deli Menu is available 7-days/week from 8am-5pm. Please note that should you wish to enjoy the Deli menu that there will be delays between 12h00 – 13h00 due to pre-ordered daily specials being served for lunch. Payment accepted on pre-paid account, credit or debit card.

Activities coming up this week:

  *   Evergreen Health Talk - Monday 06th June in the recreation room at 2pm. Evergreen Health’s Managing Director, Elize Porter and colleagues will be presenting information on Evergreen Health and the services they offer which include homecare, frail care, sub-acute and other areas of interest.  An update on progress of medical aid benefits will also be discussed and there will be time for Q&A. Please put your name down at reception if you would like to attend this session for seating and catering purpose. Tea & Biscuits will be served.
  *   We encourage all to attend the Eco-Safety Evacuation Plan discussion to be held in the Recreation Room at 10h30. Please let reception know if you will be attending for seating purposes.
  *   Join us in the Bistro for a South African Theme Dinner - Wednesday 08th June in the Bistro at 6pm, please book with the kitchen ext. 1404
  *   Bridge Club, is held in the Recreation Room every Tuesday at 2pm. All welcome.
  *   Chair Exercise Group meets to stretch to music every Wednesday morning at 10am in the Recreation Room
  *   Cake & Tea Thursday - Please join us on Thursday for Cake and a cup of Tea/Coffee and chats in the Bistro at 3pm for R25.00 per person.
  *   HNA Active Aging Class connects with residents to exercise in the recreation room on Fridays at
  *   Residents Braai – takes place every on Saturday evening.  Bring your own meat and refreshments and gather in the Bistro. Call Margaret Hull on Ext 1716 for additional information.

Forthcoming Events:

  *   Telecare Presentation – Monday 13th June at 2pm in the Recreation Room. Please book your seat at reception on Ext1400.
  *   Monthly Bingo Night – Wednesday, 15th June at 7pm. Please book with Margaret Hull on Ext 1618
  *   “Let’s Talk, Part ll” - A follow-up presentation and workshop session will be held on Monday, 20 June at 2pm. Everyone is welcome to join us for a follow-up presentation on having this important conversation with loved ones. Please book your seat at reception on Ext1400 if you wish to attend the presentation for catering purposes. Tea and Biscuits will be served.
  *   Games Night will be held on 22 June at 7pm in the recreation Room. All welcome. Bring your own refreshments. Please book with Margie Lee on Ext 1519.
  *   Father’s Day Lunch – Sunday 19th June at 12.30 in the Bistro
  *   Series Night - will take place on Friday, 24 June at 6pm. However, there will be a slight change to the programme. This will be the start be a series shown every two weeks on Friday’s at 6pm – The Lincoln Lawyer – An iconoclastic idealist runs his own law firm out of the back of his Lincoln Town Car. Based on Michael Connelly’s bestselling novels.
  *   Line Dancing Classes are set to commence in June. However, we need 8 people to start this class. Please contact Margie Lee on Ext. 1519 for booking and to confirm your spot.

Housekeeping:

  *   Please Window Wash will be on-site Tuesday 07th June at 9am.
  *   Shopping Transport will meet at Village at 09h15 every alternate Tuesday. The next trip is planned for 14/06 [Constantia Village] and 28/06 (Blue Route). R30 per trip will be added to your levy account. It is important to book your seat with reception on Ext 1400. If we have no bookings by the Monday, we will cancel the trip for Tuesday.
  *   Just a reminder that we will collect Refuse Bins early on Monday. Please assist us and only put out your rubbish bins early on a Saturday (bins get emptied and swopped) and early on Monday morning (bins get washed and sanitized before they are replaced).
  *   Library – Please ensure that should you return a book to the library that you place it on the table clearly marked. We sanitize all books prior to putting them back on the shelf. Your cooperation is appreciated.
  *   Connectivity - Please note that Frogfoot has sent out an sms to say that they are are busy with an upgrade to stabilise their network. This is affecting services provider such as Vox, Mweb etc. Please be patient.
  *   Please note that Siviwe is on leave and will return on Friday next week.
  *   No Load Shedding is planned but it could be implemented at short notice in the evenings.

External refurbishment:

  *   Lance Colborne, Highpoint Contractor’s, has been given the go-ahead to proceed with this contract. He is currently finalising all the items/purchase orders required for him to commence the job at Diep River. He is arranging his team, hiring scaffolding, buying paints and equipment to bring on site as well as the container to store his paraphernalia at the end of each working day. He should set up by the end of next week and we will keep you updated. Please be aware of general broadcasts and news flashes.
