[Evergreen Diep River]

        Dear Residents,

We have had some enquiries from residents relating to the registration of the village in its entirety for special votes in the upcoming elections.

After meeting with representatives of our local councilor to see if this can be arranged, it was confirmed not to be possible based on the IEC's criteria for special votes.

The following was quoted from the IEC's website and confirmed by the representatives.

By law, you can apply for a special vote if you:


  *   Can't travel to your voting station because you are physically infirm, disabled or pregnant, or
  *   can't vote at your voting station on election day.

We have helped residents that requested assistance with their registration who without any doubt meet the above requirements and
would qualify for a special vote. Unfortunately, this is the only criteria noted and no mention is made of a specific age threshold that qualifies for special votes.

IMPORTANT: Please also note that the we do not encourage anyone to send personal details (ID Numbers) to unknown persons or numbers noted in messages being
circulated. None of these that we have seen had any official details of the IEC on them and none has been confirmed to from the IEC.
