Coming up this week:

  *   Regular Art Classes offered by Anastasia will be held in the Bistro every Monday at 2:30pm. Residents can reap great benefits from art including improvement of cognition, sensory stimulation and sharpening memory. If you are interested, please contact Anastasia on 072 766 9573.

  *   Canasta club, hosted by Jacky Orton, will be held in the Clubhouse every Monday at 3pm. Canasta is the most traditional and loved card game by all. It is an exciting mix of strategy, luck and skill. Beginners welcome. For additional information, please contact Jacky Orton on Ext 131.

  *   Ageless Grace class will take place every Thursday morning at 10am in the Games Room. R 40pp per class. If you are interested, please contact Pat on 083 366 2790. The Ageless Grace exercises focus on the healthy longevity of the body, mind, emotion and spirit. All exercises are practiced sitting in a chair and are movements that are natural and organic.

  *   Open days every Sunday for the month of March from 2pm till 4pm at the Apartments.

  *   The Conversation Project, co-founded by Pulitzer Prize winner Ellen Goodman, is a public engagement campaign with a goal that is both simple and transformative: to make sure that every person's wishes for end-of-life care are expressed and respected. Are you curious - join Christine Dempers on Thursday, 12 March at 2:30 to find out a little more and have a conversation with like-minded people.

  *   Kind2Hearing will be doing free hearing screenings in the Clubhouse on Friday, 13 March at 12:30pm. They are a mobile service that offer free hearing screenings, free cleaning of all hearing device types and other services in the comfort of your home. Please book with reception on Ext 300 by Wednesday, 11 March.

  *   Sunday Roast Lunch on Sunday, 15 March at 12:30pm. R180pp.  Starter: Pickled fish, followed by Roast leg of lamb served with roast potatoes and Mediterranean vegetables. For dessert, Chocolate Roulade and coffee. Please book with Reception on Ext 300 by Thursday, 12 March. You are welcome to bring your own wine and refreshments. Should you require any further information please contact Yvonne Whitford on Ext 114.

Forthcoming events:

  *   2020 Over 50’s Cricket World Cup will take place from Tuesday, 10 March till 24 March. Free Entry. Please see attached poster advertising the 2020 Over 50’s Cricket World Cup. We have attached the fixtures and match schedule for your attention.
  *   Classical Music Evening on Wednesday, 18 March in the clubhouse at 7pm. A programme celebrating the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven (December 1770) will be hosted by Herman Poelmann. .Please book with reception on Ext 300 for seating and catering purposes. Salty snacks will be available and you are welcome to bring your own wine and refreshments.
  *   Bergvliet Pub Night to be held on Friday, 27 March at 6pm. Meet in the clubhouse for our popular social event. Light snacks will be served. Please book at reception for catering purposes or to buy a book of tickets for R100.

Village Housekeeping:

  *   Traffic Flow & Parking - Please note that you are respectfully requested to adhere to our new traffic flow when driving past Unit 36-65 and to the Apartments. Our traffic directional signage should be delivered very soon and, in the meantime,, we need you to do your part. In addition, we have created four parking bays at the island/Unit 52 - please do NOT park in the road at the island or the road from Unit 41 going up to the apartments, as this will only obstruct vehicles and cause mayhem.
  *   The Speed Limit in the Village is 20km/hour - please abide by speed limit.
