Christmas Cake Draw – Congratulations to Charles Foster for winning the beautiful home-made and decorated traditional Christmas Cake raffle drawn after lunch today by Yolanda Bond-Smith (Cake Maker) and Jill Dower in the Clubhouse.

Bergvliet Bistro – Our Lunch offering includes a special of the day, a selection of breakfast, toasted sandwiches, cake plus hot and cold beverages. Please be sure to give us a heads up by 4pm the day before if you would like to order the Daily Special in the bistro. We have attached the menu for the next two weeks and Chef Chantal has put together a lovely menu for the Xmas week. Please note that no Cash Payments will be accepted. Please pay on account, pre-paid credit or debit card.

Senior Christmas Gift  - We are doing a last minute call to all Evergreen Bergvliet residents to donate a gift for Huis Alleyne in Bishop Lavis. The gifts will be handed over at a surprise Christmas Lunch that is being arranged for their residents of this old age home on 16th December. If you have not already donated, perhaps you can drop off ONE item listed below and we will gift-wrapped present on your behalf:

  *   Clothing items such as socks, slippers , knitted scarves, cuddly blankets etc.
  *   Toiletries, skincare, soap, shampoo
  *   Adult colouring book & crayons, puzzles, playing card
  *   Books (large typeface)
  *   Snacks, sweets, chocolates, wine gums, biscuits or dried fruit etc.
Should you require any additional information, please contact Ext 300. Please hand your gift to reception by no later than 12-noon on Monday, 14 December 2020

 Coming up this week: PLEASE ABIDE BY COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS/ NO MASK NO ENTRY

  *   Regular Art Classes offered by Anastasia will be held in the Bistro every Tuesday and Thursday at 2:30pm. Residents can reap great benefits from art including improvement of cognition, sensory stimulation and sharpening memory. If you are interested, please contact Anastasia on 072 766 9573.The last class will be on Tuesday, 22 December and then resume in the New Year.
  *   Canasta Club, hosted by Jacky Orton, will be held in the Clubhouse every Monday at 2:30pm. Canasta is the most traditional and loved card game by all. It is an exciting mix of strategy, luck and skill. Beginners welcome. For additional information, please contact Jacky Orton on Ext 131.
  *   Ageless Grace will take place every Wednesday morning at 11am in the Bistro. R 50pp per class. If you are interested, please contact Pat on 083 366 2790. The Ageless Grace exercises focus on the healthy longevity of the body, mind, emotion and spirit. All exercises are practiced sitting in a chair and are movements that are natural and organic.
  *   Scrabble – The last Scrabble meeting will be on Tuesday, 15th December at 2pm in the Clubhouse. It will resume in the New Year. All welcome! For additional information, please contact reception on Ext 300 or Inez Gretton on Ext 103.
  *   Movement and Dance Classes – Lessons have been suspended for the festive season and will re-open in the New Year.
  *   Library – Please ensure that should you return a book that you place it on the table clearly marked. We sanitise all books prior to putting them back on the shelf. Your cooperation is appreciated.
