We wish a very Happy Birthday to Melanie de Smidt (Unit 74) on 27th March and Inez Gretton (Unit 3) on 30th March.

Our Social Dinner on Tuesday, 26 March will start at 6:30pm in the Clubhouse. We will be serving Butter chicken served on fragrant rice OR Steak ale casserole with mashed potatoes both served with seasonal vegetables. This will be followed with  a baked cheesecake. R140pp. We kindly request that you book at reception or call Ext 300 by no later than Monday, 25 March at 12-noon. Please pay for your dinner by lunchtime on Tuesday. You are very welcome to bring your own refreshments.

Western Province Catering (WPC)
Residents are enjoying the special lunches, delicious breakfasts, light meals and toasties every day. Please also note that WPC have arranged that prepaid accounts & credit card facilities are available in the Bergvliet Coffee Shop for your convenience.

-       Balance & Tone Class – A reminder that the weekly group Balance & Tone class has commenced and will take place every Thursdays at 10am in the Games Room. Classes are R400 p/m. For more information contact Claire on 0832030309.

Village Housekeeping items:

-       Temporary Fence -  The construction team has completed the temporary vibracrete fence between units 47/48 to facilitate building of the entrance to basement garage at the Apartments. The contractors will commence with the installation of the electric fence to secure our village, this coming week. Once this has been completed, excavation work will commence.

-       External painting - The painting team have moved onto Units 10-17 this week. Our Evergreen village team will be able to assist you with whatever you need. Please call me if you need help, have any queries or require any additional information at this stage.

-       Site Visit - A survey by Biff Lewis Geomatics Inc. of all houses within the village will continue between 25 March 2019 – 29 March from 08:00 to 17:00 on weekdays only. This forms part of our efforts to correctly record all building information within the village. Lindy from Biff Lewis Geomatics Inc. may require access to the unit to ensure that everything is captured properly. In this event, we will contact you to make an appointment.

Resident Survey:  it was recently agreed at a meeting of the Village Management Committee to introduce a short questionnaire to provide feedback on the day-to-day experience of residents in the Village. This will be delivered to you during the course of the weekend Should you not be available, it will be left in your pigeon hole. Please return your questionnaire to the Reception desk by no later than Monday, 1 April 2019.

Rambling Rose Catering: It is with great sadness that we bid a fond farewell to Rambling Rose, our wonderful caterers, who have provided the Tuesday Social Evenings with excellent and tasty meals for the last two and a half years. Tony & Liz have decided to hang up their aprons at the Village and focus primarily on their restaurant. Rambling Rose will continue to provide us with meals until the end of April.

Village manger Assistant: I wish to welcome my new assistant, Shawn Ferreira who starts his new position at the Village on Monday, 25 March.  Shawn has an extensive hotel management background and has worked as Front Office Manager at the Cape Grace Hotel, Spier Hotel and Wine Farm, Cullinan Hotel and more recently the Radisson Red Hotel. His focus has been Front Desk and Guest Relations. I have no doubt that he is eminently qualified for his role and will settle down as my right hand man, in no time at all.  Elvirah Daniels will be moving to Evergreen Noordhoek as Kim Whitworth’s assistant at the end of next week.

LOAD SHEDDING: Earlier this week, Eskom attributed stage 4 load-shedding to plant breakdowns and Tropical Cyclone Idai, which swept through parts of Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi. Please be aware of the different stages of load shedding and always be prepared.
