We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Yolanda Bondsmith (#46) on 9th July and  Elaine Doyle (#12) on 13th July.

Our choice of meal for our Tuesday Social Dinner on 09 July in the Clubhouse at 6:30pm is a choice of Beef Wellington with red wine jus, roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables OR Curried Chicken Pie served with roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables.  Dessert is Baked malva Pudding & Custard followed with tea/coffee. R140pp.  Please book with WPC before 12-noon on Monday, 08 July. Bookings can be made with Sheila in the Bistro on Ext 200. Payment can be made on account, cash or credit card. You are very welcome to bring your own wine/refreshments.

Sunday Lunch will be held on 14 July in the clubhouse at 12h30. A starter of Butternut soup and croutons will be served followed by a fragrant Lamb Curry served with rice, spinach and vegetable medley. Dessert is poached pears in red wine served with cinnamon ice cream and tea/coffee. Price  R180 per person. Children are charged at R50 per child..

-           Movie Night on Saturday, 06 July at 7pm - Erin Brokovich (Julia Roberts) - an unemployed single mother becomes a legal assistant and almost single-handedly brings down a California power company accused of polluting a city's water supply.
-           Giltedge Travel Presentation on Tuesday, 09 July at 11am
-           Alida Fashion will present their mobile shop in the clubhouse on Thursday, 11 July from 9am - 12pm
-           CCH Musical Lunchtime concert in the Bistro - Enjoy some light entertainment before lunch on Friday, 12 July at 12pm
-           Wimbledon Ladies Final Tea - Watch the exciting ladies final match in the clubhouse with friends at 3pm. We will be serving scones, cream and strawberry jam, cucumber sandwiches, mini quiche Lorraine and chocolate eclairs as well as mini milk tarts. Tea and coffee will be served. Price R45 per person. Please book with Sheila in the bistro of call ext 200.

Forthcoming events:
-           Classical Music Evening will be held on Wednesday, 17 July in the clubhouse at 7pm. Hosted Herman Poelmann the evenings programme will feature Dvořák Cello Concerto in B Minor with Cellist Mstislav Rostropovich and Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.2 played by Anna Fedorova. Please book with reception on Ext 300 for seating and catering purposes. Salty snacks will be available and you are welcome to bring your own wine and refreshments.
-           Tuesday Presentation by Maya Ingwersen (Née Albrecht) – has been invited to share some of her beautiful memories of growing up at Sonnenhof, her childhood home,  which is now our clubhouse at the Evergreen Village. Either reserve your table for dinner on Tuesday 16 July or indicate your attendance (no dinner).   We will require everyone to be seated by 6pm for this brief trip down memory lane with Maya on her experiences of growing up on the farm in Bergvliet.
-           Bingo night  on Friday, 19 July concert in the clubhouse - Enjoy some light entertainment before lunch on Friday, 12 July at 12pm
-           Xmas in July Dinner to be held in the clubhouse on Friday 26 July at6:30pm – booking open for our popular event on the calendar. Details to follow.
-           An exciting Resident Cook-Off event will be hosted by Western Province caterers on Monday 5 August. Look out for details of the competition to be posted on the notice board.
-           Save the Date: AGM - Thursday, 01 August 2019 at 3pm

Village Housekeeping
- FTTH – Please note that Walton’s, the paving contractor, due to rain delays will continue their remedial work outside of Units 34/35, 55/56, and 60/61. They will only need to work in the road. Trenching will be done in order to unblock the line/conduit to enable the fibre installation. The Village FTTH installation can proceed as soon as this is done. We estimate they will complete their work by next week.
- Blackland Painters – Have completed their project and will be moving off site. A skeleton team will be available to do any snagging not yet attended to.
- Installation of LED Lights: The installation of the LED lights, for those residents who have indicated they will to do the conversion, will continue by appointment only. Shawn Ferreira will be in touch to schedule an appointment.

Village Shuttle – our weekly transport shuttle service to shopping centres and medical suites is working well. Shuttle service is available on Tuesday (9am) and Thursday (1pm). Please book your seat with reception. A R20 nominal fee will be charged per passenger which can be  billed direct to your levy account.

Don’t forget to buy your Monthly raffle tickets and tickets for the beautiful homemade and decorated Christmas Cake baked by one of our residents, Yolanda Bondsmith. Tickets available at reception. Draw to be done on 26 July.
