We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Geoff Nixon (#36) on 5th July and Trish Smith (#67); John Blackman (#29) on 6th July and Dawn Osborne (#59) on 7th July.

Our choice of meal for our Tuesday Social Dinner on 02 July in the Clubhouse at 6:30pm is a choice of Roast Pork Leg with apple puree, roast potatoes served with seasonal vegetables OR Salmon Fillet and hollandaise sauce served with asparagus and baby carrots.  Dessert is Bannoffee Pie followed with tea/coffee. R140pp.  Please book with WPC before 12-noon on Monday, 01 July. Bookings can be made with Sheila in the Bistro on Ext 200. Payment can be made on account, cash or credit card. You are very welcome to bring your own wine/refreshments.

Coming up this week:-
-           Kind-to-hearing will be available in the clubhouse from 9am on Wednesday, 03 July to assess and test your hearing.
-           Men’s Breakfast to be held in the Bistro on Thursday, 4th July at 9am. Our first guest speaker is Winston Kew.  Winston taught History at the University of South Africa (Unisa) from 1966 to 1999 and was an Examiner for the DET matric history exam for many years. After retiring from Unisa he taught at a primary school in Pretoria for some ten years before moving to Cape Town where he has taken on incidental  teaching at Rondebosch Boys High School from time to time. He is passionate about education and will look at the roll of Unisa in the South African educational scenario and relate it to President Ramaphosa's statement in his SONA address that “at the centre of all our efforts to achieve higher and more equitable growth, to draw young people into employment and to prepare our country for the digital age, must be the prioritisation of education and the development of skills.”  R70 per person. -            Movie Night on Saturday, 06 July at 7pm - Erin Brokovich (Julia Roberts) - an unemployed single mother becomes a legal assistant and almost single-handedly brings down a California power company accused of polluting a city's water supply.

Village Housekeeping
- FTTH – Please note that Walton’s, the paving contractor, will continue their remedial work outside of Units 34/35, 55/56, and 60/61. They will only need to work in the road. Trenching will be done in order to unblock the line/conduit to enable the fibre installation. The Village FTTH installation can proceed as soon as this is done.
- Blackland Painters – A skeleton team from Blackland will continue to snag houses this week. They have almost completed their project and should be out of the village shortly.
- Installation of LED Lights: The installation of the LED lights, for those residents who have indicated they will to do the conversion, will continue by appointment only. Shawn Ferreira will be in touch to schedule an appointment.

Village Shuttle – our weekly transport shuttle service to shopping centres and medical suites is working well. Shuttle service is available on Tuesday (9am) and Thursday (1pm). Please book your seat with reception. A R20 nominal fee will be charged per passenger which can be  billed direct to your levy account.
