What’s happening next week: 12/08/2019 – 18/08/2019

Our choice of meal for the Tuesday Social Dinner on Tuesday, 13 August in the Clubhouse at 6:30pm is a choice of Beef Bourguignon with basmati rice and seasonal vegetables OR Thai Pork Kassler chops with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. This will be followed with Baked Ginger pudding with custard and tea/coffee. R140pp.  Please book before 12-noon on Monday, 12 August. Bookings can be made with Sheila in the Bistro on Ext 200. Payment can be made on account, cash or credit card. You are very welcome to bring your own wine/refreshments.

Monday, 12/08         Salmon and spinach fettucine with salad of the day
Tuesday, 13/08        Baked Portuguese fish with savoury rice and seasonal vegetables
Wednesday, 14/08   Chicken a la King with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables
Thursday, 15/08       Beef Curry with yellow rice, tomato sambals and seasonal vegetables
Friday, 16/08            Premium Meal: Fried fish with tartar sauce, fresh lemon, chips and salad of the day

Coming up this week:-

  *   Classical Music Evening on Wednesday, 14 August in the clubhouse at 7pm. The evening programme will feature Rachmaninoff: Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini, played by the South Korean pianist Yol Eum Son at the Marinsky Theatre in St Petersburg, and Shumann: Piano Concerto played by the Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki. Please book with reception on Ext 300 for seating and catering purposes. You are welcome to bring your own wine and refreshments.
  *   Giltedge Club Launch presentation will be held in the Clubhouse on Friday, 16 August at 10:30pm.
  *   Sunday Roast Lunch on Sunday, 18 August at 12pm. R180pp. Mrs Yvonne Whitford will be preparing Salmon and Snoek Pâté for starters; Roast Lamb served with potatoes and vegetables for the main course; and a selection of Pastries for dessert. We kindly request that you book and pay for your lunch by no later than 3pm on Thursday, 15 August with Reception on Ext 300. Should you require any further information please contact Yvonne Whitford on Ext 114.

Forthcoming events:
-   We will be having a Sugarbird Fynbos Gin Tasting hosted by Daniel Perrins from Siris Vintners on Thursday, 22 August in the Bistro at 4pm. Please book with Reception on Ext 300 by Monday, 19 August before 12-noon as we have limited space available.
-   A presentation on the benefits of Aloe Gel for mature skin will be held in the Clubhouse on Monday, 26 August at 10am. It will be hosted by Barbara from Totally Wild. Totally Wild is a Cape Town based company that specialise in a small range of medicinal type of Aloe juice and organic Aloe gel for the skin. Barbara will be selling Organic Aloe Gel at a special price of R80 per tube.
-   Bergvliet Pub Night to be held on Friday 30 August at 6pm. Meet in the clubhouse for our popular social event. Light snacks will be served. Please book at reception for catering purposes.

Village Housekeeping
- FTTH – Please note that the paving contractor will be finishing off the last of their trenching work on Monday,5th August .Frogfoot will also be doing work during the course of next week in conjunction with the project. We will update all residents of progress within next week.
- Village Shuttle – our weekly transport shuttle service to shopping centres (Meadow Ridge, Constantia Village and Blue Route as well as medical suites) is working well. Shuttle service is available on Tuesday (9am) and Thursday (1pm). Please book your seat with reception. A R20 nominal fee will be charged per passenger which can be billed direct to your levy account.
- Refuse Collection – Please may we request that no soil or garden rubble in the black bins as the City of Cape Town may refuse to empty these bins.

Don’t forget to buy your Monthly raffle tickets which are available at reception. The monthly draw will be held at the Social Dinner on Tuesday, 27 August.
