What’s happening next week: 28/05/2018 – 03/06/2018

Our Social Dinner on Tuesday, 29 May is at 6:30pm in the Clubhouse. We will be serving a choice of Beef & potato curry served with sambals OR Herby baked fish with parsley both served with seasonal vegetables. This will be followed crepes filled with caramelized apples served with cream and coffee/tea. We kindly request that you book at reception or call Ext 300. Booking and payment is required by no later than 12pm on Monday, 28 May. Unfortunately, no late bookings can be accepted and there will be no refund in the event of a no-show.

Please join Jean van Rhyn at the showing of The Crown, - a Netflix drama series which chronicles the life of Queen Elizabeth II from the 1940's to modern times, in the Clubhouse on SUNDAY, 27 May from 1pm. Bring along refreshments and snacks.

Of Loss & love: Journeying with a loved one living with dementia – Wednesday, 30th May 2.30pm
When a person is diagnosed with dementia, they and their loved ones set off on a long journey of loss. But this this does not have to be the whole story. In this presentation, Alice Ashwell will share some of the turning points and blessings she experienced during her mother’s fifteen-year dementia journey. She hopes that by sharing a different perspective on dementia, we may be able to overcome the stigma associated with this condition, learn to connect more effectively with our loved ones, and remain steadfast in our love and care. Please call Andréa on Ext 300 for seating purposes.

We will be introducing the first of our regular Pub Nights on Friday, 01 June at 6.00pm in the Clubhouse. Please join us for this social occasion and get-together. Light snacks will be provided. Books of 10 tickets at R50 can be purchased from the office or from Jean or Yolanda on Tuesday night. Call Jean van Rhyn (Ext 149) or Yolanda Bond-Smith (Ext 146) for further information.

Forthcoming Events:

  *   Voter Registration: Tuesday, 5 June at 10am. We have arranged for the IEC office to register residents at the village in order for them to have a special vote in the upcoming elections. The IEC will be available between 10am-11am in the clubhouse on Tuesday, 5 June. Please bring your ID book/smart ID along with you. You can also check to see if you are already registered as well.
  *   Lunchtime Music Concert will take place on Thursday, 14 June at 12h30. For seating purposes, please call Herman Poelmann on Ext 115.
