What’s happening next week: 21/05/2018 – 27/05/2018

We would like to wish Elda Diana-Oliaro (Unit 55) a very Happy Birthday for 21st May.

Our Social Dinner on Tuesday, 22 May is at 6:30pm in the Clubhouse. We will be serving a choice of Fish Cakes in tomato smoor on mash OR Chicken Casserole served with rice & seasonal vegetables. This will be followed by Peach Melba and coffee/tea. We kindly request that you book at reception or call Ext 300. Booking and payment is required by no later than 12pm on Monday, 21 May. Unfortunately, no late bookings can be accepted and there will be no refund in the event of a no-show.

A “living will” presentation will take place on Wednesday, 23 May at 2.30pm Unlike a will, or “last will and testament,” which stipulates certain directives after your death, a living will relates to your end-of-life wishes while you are still alive. Join us for  a questions & answers presentation to discuss this topic with a legal specialist.

Our “Fairy Tale” Theme Dinner will be held on Friday, 25 May. Cream of Cauliflower and blue cheese soup served with sesame rolls will be served as a starter. This will be followed by Veal in cream on buttered tagliatelle OR Hake bon femme. Pears poached in Muscadel and vanilla ice cream topped with toasted almonds will be served for dessert. Please call Andréa on Ext 300 to book by Tuesday, 22 May. R165 per person.

Forthcoming Events:

-       Of Loss & love: Journeying with a loved one living with dementia – Wednesday, 30th May 2.30pm
When a person is diagnosed with dementia, they and their loved ones set off on a long journey of loss. But this this does not have to be the whole story. In this presentation, Alice Ashwell will share some of the turning points and blessings she experienced during her mother’s fifteen-year dementia journey. She hopes that by sharing a different perspective on dementia, we may be able to overcome the stigma associated with this condition, learn to connect more effectively with our loved ones, and remain steadfast in our love and care. Please call Andréa on Ext 300 for seating purposes.
