What’s happening next week 03/07/2017 – 09/07/2017

We would like to wish the following residents a Happy Birthday: 5th Geoff Nixon (Unit 36); 6th John Blackman (Unit 29); 7th Dawn Osborne (Unit 59).

A reminder that the Residents meeting will take place on Monday, 3 July at 16h00 in the clubhouse. We have a busy week ahead,

Our Social Dinner will take place on Tuesday, 04 July at 6:30pm for 7:00pm in the Clubhouse. We will be serving a choice of Steak & ale casserole with parsley rice OR Chicken tetrazzini served on spaghetti (chicken breasts, mushrooms, sherry sauce with toasted almonds) & seasonal veg. This will be followed by Sherry trifle and coffee/tea. We kindly request that you book and pay Andréa on Ext 300 by no later than 12pm on Monday, 03 July 2017. No late bookings can be accepted and there will be no refund in the event of a no-show.

On Wednesday, 5 July we will be hosting Neil Hayward, a professional bridge teacher. Neil will be offering insight into a range of Duplicate Bridge hands. He has collected thousands of hands played in actual duplicate club tournaments, over many years. Some of these will be presented to players and each result achieved, will be analysed to learn and improve one’s own game. Please join Neil at 3pm in the Games Room if you want to take your Bridge “up a notch” or wish to take up the game. For any additional information, please call Don Campbell on Ext 141.

Our Men’s Breakfast will take place on Thursday, 6 July at 09h00 in the clubhouse. R60pp. Kindly book and pay Andréa at reception.
A delicious Soup in a Jar will be available every day from next week Monday, 26 June to eat in the Bistro or to take-away. Cost: R60 per jar (serves two). Please call Amanda on Ext 200 to place your order.

Lainey & Len, Our live entertainment duo will be performing on Friday, 7 July in the clubhouse. It’s a “Bring & Share” and tickets are R65 per person. Please book with Andréa on Ext 300. For details of show see attached poster.

Sunday Roast Lunch will be held on 09 July in the clubhouse from 12:30pm. Snoek Paté served with blinis and green figs followed by Smoked Roast Gammon glazed with cranberries and plums OR Roast Chicken with apricot sauce, creamed potatoes & mediterranean vegetables followed by Cinnamon mousse with poached pears poached in red wine served with cream. Please book with Andréa at reception on Ext 300 by no later than Friday, 07 July. Cost: R150 per person.

  *   Please diarise our Ladies Brunch on Wednesday, 12 July – we invite all the ladies of the village to attend the brunch in the clubhouse at 11:30am. Please book with Andréa on Ext 300 for catering purposes. R100 per person. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments. Guests welcome.
  *   Our Music evening on Wednesday, 19 July will feature Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber with a gala concert: Masterpiece, staged at The Great Hall of the People in Tianneman Square.
  *   Xmas in July will take place in the clubhouse on Friday, 28 July – R150 per person.

Just a reminder that we are planning to hold an Arts & Crafts display on Saturday, 9 September. With our newly renovated clubhouse, we can accommodate more tables for residents to display their Art/Craft. Please diarise this date. If you have any questions or you wish to participate in the exhibition, please contact Felicity Walker on Ext 142.
