Dear Residents

We would like to wish the following residents a Happy Birthday: 13 September, Maria Koen (Unit 25); 14 September, Jeanne De Villiers (Unit 20); 15 September, Jill Dower (Unit 32); 17 September, Louise Sturrock (Unit 48); and 18 September, Ian Mc Donald (Unit 18).

This week, our Tuesday night social dinner will take place on 13 September at 6:30pm in the Clubhouse. We are serving a choice of either Savoury mince pancakes with cheese sauce or Creamy chicken & mushroom pancakes with cheese sauce served with seasonal vegetables. This will be followed by Poached pears served with vanilla ice-cream and coffee/tea. We kindly request that you book with Andréa on Ext 300 by no later than 4pm on Monday, 12 September.

You can help celebrate Sunflower Day on 16 September by purchasing your Tope to show support for this important cause. A Tope is a multipurpose article of clothing, with practical functionality, for the whole family and can be worn in a variety of ways - headband, mask, scarf, cap or armband and is at Pick n Pay stores nationwide.

Our Movie Night on Saturday 17 September is “First Wives Club” at 19h00 featuring the comedy trio – Bette Midler, Diane Keaton and Goldie Hawn who portray mid-life Manhattanites who have more than a longtime friendship in common. After years of helping their hubbies climb the ladder of success, each has been dumped for a newer, curvier model. But the trio is determined to turn their pain into gain.

Please complete a fault/maintenance request form for all jobs whether they be internal or external.  The forms are available at reception. Just a reminder that all internal maintenance is the residents’ responsibility and includes ceilings, wall and floor coverings, doors and windows, lighting, cooking, heating, cooling, geyser, plumbing, air-conditioning and any other fixtures, fittings and furnishings in the home. Our internal team can be allocated to in-house maintenance and they will be charged out at R100 per half hour or part thereof and R180 per hour. This will be added to your levy account.

Don’t forget to take a ticket or three in our Lucky Draw is a way to raise funds by the village entertainment committee in order to provide live music, décor and a variety of items for the benefit of residents.  Each ticket costs R20.00 and the draw sheet is available at reception. Buy your ticket for our next draw which will take place on Tuesday, 27 September 2016

We have installed speed bumps at two points on the main road to ensure the well-being and safety of our villagers. Please be considerate of your fellow residents and obey the 20Km speed rule of the village.

Forthcoming Events:


-       The monthly Music Evenings hosted by Herman Poelmann has resumed  on the third Wednesday, 21 September. It will feature the Dutch brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen, two young and very talented Dutch pianists in a piano recital consisting of three Sonatas by Beethoven and one four handed piano piece by Frans Schubert. Despite their youth, they have been participating in the international concert world for years and whether they perform as a duo or as soloists, Lucas and Arthur are praised by both press and audiences.

-       Monthly Theme Dinner – Namaqualand  to be held on Friday, 30 September at 19h00.
