What’s happening next week 24/10/2016 - 30/10/2016

 We would like to wish the following resident a Happy Birthday: 26 October, Hazel Hill (Unit 28).

This week, our Tuesday night social dinner will take place on 25 October at 6:30pm in the Clubhouse. We are serving a choice of Beef or Vegetable Lasagne topped with roasted tomatoes and served with a garden salad. This will be followed by Tiramisu and coffee/tea. We kindly request that you book with Andréa on Ext 300 by no later than 12pm on Monday, 24 October 2016. Unfortunately NO late bookings can be accepted.

Ageless Grace, the exercise presentation was very popular with our residents at the introductory session held this week and we are excited to announce that they will be back every Thursday morning at 10am in the clubhouse. The first class will be free and R40 per class thereafter.

Don’t forget our Halloween Dinner to be held in the clubhouse on Friday, 28 October at 7pm. The cost is R135 per person. Please book with Andréa on Ext 300. (See poster attached).

The planned trip to Vrede & Lust wine estate in Franschhoek on Wednesday, 2nd November promises to be a wonderful day. Leaving from the village early in the morning, we’ll head off to Vergenoegd to have coffee and watch the “duck parade” - an amusing daily ritual where our flock of Indian Runner Ducks line-up in eager anticipation of their day in the vineyards. This will be followed by a visit to the Franschhoek Motor Museum - a special opportunity to look back at more than 100 years of motoring history with its unique and exciting collection of vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles and memorabilia in the magnificent setting of L’Ormarins. after this, we’ll take a trip down memory lane with a visit to the Huguenot Museum, located among landscaped gardens. It celebrates the French legacy of the area and pays tribute to the hardships the people endured as they painstakingly brought this verdant wine growing valley to life. The trip will end off with a wine tasting at Vrede & Lust  and then off to the Lust Bistro for lunch - there is something for everyone: salads crisp with dew-fresh seasonal garden produce, cakes just out the oven, cheese and charcuterie platters boasting South African specialities, mouth-watering chicken and beef dishes all exquisitely presented. We’ll then make our way home in the late afternoon. It is definitely an experience you do not want to miss. Please book early with Andréa as there are limited spaces available. Price: R390 (includes bus transport, coffee, museum entrance fees, wine tasting an excludes lunch and refreshments, which is for your own account)
