[Melrose Arch Tenant] Tenant Notification | Elegance

With reference to the subject line, I am sure that you have all heard of the incident that occurred yesterday on the Precinct.
There are a number of versions of the events that occurred, to clarify the position and prevent further confusion please find the below.

At around 11:55 am the suspects entered the Precinct using two vehicles.
The vehicles stopped in High Street and Crescent Drive respectively.
The first set of suspects attempted to force the Elegance doorman to open the automatic doors.
The doorman pushed a remote which triggered a silent alarm as well as released smoke within the premises of Elegance.
The suspects upon seeing this, returned to their vehicles and proceeded to make their escape out of the Precinct.
A private security firm gave chase.
Gunfire was exchanged on Atholl Oaklands Road outside of the Precinct.
Unfortunately a Security Officer and an innocent bystander were injured during this exchange, and the suspects managed to evade capture.
Both injured persons were stabilized at the scene and transported to Milpark Hospital.
We continue to be in touch with the injured parties and get constant updates as to their progress, our thoughts are with them and their loved ones.
Thanks to the rapid reaction of various security companies, SAPS and JMPD, three of the suspects were apprehended later in the day, and the vehicles used in the commission of the crime were recovered.
Investigations and operations are continuing.

Melrose Arch would like to thank SAPS, JMPD, the various security companies and Medi-Response for all their assistance and effort during and after the attempted theft.

The Melrose Arch precinct offers a safe and secure environment in which to work, shop and live. It is fitted with the latest technological CCTV equipment. Over 600 cameras are closely monitored 24 hours a day, through experienced professionals in the control room.
