Catering and Clinic updates



After many meetings and consultations with management and others we still do not have firm proposals

on our healthcare services and catering. We are assured no changes will be implemented until these

issues have been resolved.

There may be questions at Monday's AGM but nothing further.

Here is some information on what has come out of Rescom's interactions with relevant parties.



Healthcare



After discussions with the Evergreen Health (EGH) team, their recommendation was that the minimum

healthcare requirement of our village should be one Registered Nurse 5 days a week Monday to Friday

from 8am to 5pm and one ENA on duty at night and over the weekends. We believe that as there is no

provision in our LRAs, the cost of providing this service should be borne by Evergreen.



Catering



Rescom feels strongly that any reduction in the hours and level of service of catering in the Bistro would

lead to a significant lowering in ambiance of the lifestyle centre and the lifestyle of the residents and

impact negatively on the marketability of units at Evergreen Muizenberg. Various options like reducing the

hours when Bistro services would be available were also considered.

The cost of providing this service over and above the prices paid for meals, snacks and tea/coffee by the

residents should, we feel, be for the account of the sales division of Evergreen.

As I say, this is an ongoing process and further input and developments could lead to changes which will

be in the best interests of residents. The new Rescom which will be elected at Monday's AGM will continue

this process.
