[Evergreen Muizenberg] Update on COVID-19 resurgence

[Evergreen Muizenberg]

        Dear Residents,

I have the inevitable task of informing you that we have had another two residents who
have tested positive for the Covid-19 virus in the apartment building. The resident complained
of a typical Covid-19 symptom and had themselves tested. The couple have had minimal
contact with other residents or staff and have immediately self-isolated.

We are confident that no other residents came into contact with these residents for any
extended period of time. Under the circumstances the couple are doing well and we will
continue to support and monitor them.

We have also immediately instituted the recognised "tracing" protocol. All the carers that have
come into contact with the couple are either being tested or have been placed in quarantine.

I am very pleased to report that they previous resident who contracted the virus is doing well
and that I am in daily contact with them.

As relayed in our previous correspondence our thoughts and prayers are with the residents and
their family and we pray for a full and speedy recovery.

As an extra precautionary measure please do not go up to the Care Centre. Should you
need to see a healthcare worker please call the clinic, our reception or press the yellow button
on your TeleCare station.

Again the COVID-19 Golden Rules :-


  *   Wash your hands regularly and thoroughly with soap and water, or use a sanitiser with an
          alcohol content of at least 70%.

  *   Try avoid touching your face.
  *   Wear a mask when outside your home at all times, covering both your nose and mouth.
  *   Practice 'social distancing', a distance of at least 1.5m between you and your fellow resident.
  *   Cough or sneeze into a disposable tissue, or if not available into the crook of your arm.
  *   Avoid potential high 'used' areas, large crowds or gatherings.
  *   If you're not feeling well, stay at home
