Our meal offering includes a special of the day and Bistro Menu with a selection of breakfast, toasted sandwiches, cake plus hot and cold beverages.  Please be sure to give us a heads up by 4pm the day before if you would like to order the Daily Special in the bistro. The Deli Menu is available 7-days/week from 8am-5pm. Please note that should you wish to enjoy the Deli menu that there will be delays between 12h00 – 13h00 due to pre-ordered daily specials being served for lunch. Payment accepted on pre-paid account, credit or debit card.

Activities coming up this week:

  *   “Let’s Talk, Part ll” - Remember to book for the presentation to be held on Monday, 20 June in the Recreation Room Lounge at 2pm. We'll be covering Advanced Directives/Living Wills and choosing the right Medical Proxy. Tea & Biscuits will be served.
  *   Series Night - will take place on Friday, 24 June at 6pm. However, there will be a slight change to the programme. This will be the start bea series shown every two weeks on Friday’s at 6pm – The Lincoln Lawyer – An iconoclastic idealist runs his own law firm out of the back of his Lincoln Town Car. Based on Michael Connelly’s bestselling novels.
  *   Bridge Club, is held in the Recreation Room every Tuesday at 2pm. All welcome.
  *   Chair Exercise Group meets to stretch to music every Wednesday morning at 10am in the Recreation Room. ALL WELCOME
  *   Cake & Tea Thursday - Please join us on Thursday for Cake and a cup of Tea/Coffee and chats in the Bistro at 3pm for R25.00 per person.
  *   HNA Active Aging Class connects with residents to exercise in the recreation room on Fridays.

IMPORTANT - Emergency Evacuation Drill - We are planning to have an Emergency Evacuation Drill on Thursday, 23 June at 1.30pm. Anton from Eco-Safety will facilitate this important exercise which will be followed by a Q&A and summary discussion. Evacuation Marshals will be on hand to assist. Information Circular to follow.

General:

  *   Shopping Transport will meet at Village at 09h15 every alternate Tuesday. The next trip is planned for 28/06 [Constantia Village] and 12/07 (Blue Route). R30 per trip will be added to your levy account. It is important to book your seat with reception on Ext 1400. If we have no bookings by the Monday, we will cancel the trip for Tuesday.
  *   Just a reminder that we will collect Refuse Bins early on Monday. Please assist us and only put out your rubbish bins early on a Saturday (bins get emptied and swopped) and early on Monday morning (bins get washed and sanitized before they are replaced).
  *   Library – Please ensure that should you return a book to the library that you place it on the table clearly marked. We sanitize all books prior to putting them back on the shelf. Your cooperation is appreciated.
  *   No Load Shedding is planned but it could be implemented at short notice on the cold winter evenings.
  *   We respectfully request that each resident takes responsibility for their safety by wearing a mask, wash hands and sanitize often.
External Refurbishment: Highpoint, the main contractor for the external refurbishment has finalised their arrangements and will set up site next week. We will keep you updated - general broadcasts and news flashes will follow.

Internal Refurbishment: We will commence with bathroom/tiling work for Units 318 on Monday, 20 June. EPI will be attending to the following units in the first phase Units 216, 202, 102, 114, 117 and 306.

Staff Notice: I am pleased to announce that as Siviwe has moved across to Muizenberg, an opportunity has opened for both Andrew Lewis and Janine Hendricks to work at Reception, every alternate weekend from 09h00 - 17h00. They are both competent individuals and know our Village and residents very well. They will commence these duties next weekend. I am sure that they will go from strength to strength and will ensure that everything runs smoothly.
