[Evergreen Diep River] ELV DR>Senior Santa - Douglas Murray Home for the Aged*

        Dear Resident

Evergreen Lifestyle Villages has partnered with Douglas Murray Home for the Aged, to offer a gift to a senior citizen who might not otherwise receive a present this Christmas season. They are based in Retreat and have 29 men and 37 women. They support the community from employing staff that live around the Home and rely on donations and contribution to ensure that their Residents have a comfortable space and environment.

We are requesting that our residents participate in Christmas Gift initiative individually or form a group to buy a gift or collect small items to pack into a Christmas shoe box or fabric bag. If you would like to only hand in one item, we would be very happy to pack these into a special gift box /fabric bag on your behalf.

Gift Items that are required may include:

  *   Clothing that's easy to get on and off: cotton socks, slippers, track suits, knitted scarfs and beanies, pyjamas, slippers or non-slip socks or a soft throw blanket for the bed or chair;
  *   Basic Toiletries (for sensitive skin): face cloth, soap, shampoo, body lotion, soft toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving cream and razors;
  *   Entertainment: Audio books and a small audio player, CDs or DVDs;
  *   Educational and Hobbies: Adult colouring books and crayons, plastic blunt-tipped scissors, puzzles, paint-by-number, wool and knitting supplies;
  *   Reading Material: large print books and magazines;
  *   Games: Scrabble, dominoes and crossword puzzles or a deck of playing cards;
  *   Snacks: Chocolate, chips, biscuits, biltong, dried fruits, vitamin rich sweets like Super C or Energade gums, Christmas pies and cookies and Lecol Juices

Please identify your gift or box with a small label that includes if it's for a man or a woman. Hand your gift to the Administration office on 2nd Floor or Reception by no later than 12:00 on Friday, 10 December 2021.

Evergreen Lifestyle Village will be supporting Douglas Murray Home for the Aged with their wish list/projects and to build a partnership with them. We hope that you will donate generously towards these events and activities.
