Historically the graphics claimed both were the same and generated forecasts at UTC times claiming they were local times. I had an uphill battle trying to fix this but I have implemented a work around in the meantime: 1) I have changed the time basis of the forecasts to Universal Time (UTC or GMT). The server time clock and local time zone have been set to UTC. So all the times you see are UTC, ie 2 hours ahead of local South African Time (SAST). Thus a chart labelled 1200 UTC is actually 1400 local time. (Just remember to add 2 hours on to every time you see.) This is less convenient but it is correct, which better and facilitates other changes. 2) I have adjusted the "Z2" "today" model to use source data from the GFS run 3 hours earlier. This results in the model now getting published at 7h30 local time in the morning instead of 09h00. This makes it much more useful for planing tasks and daily flying. (The above does not effect the legacy forecasts.) Regards Ian -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I have been using this run for development runs, but I have set it to be published for the moment. There are a few tweaks to the default view on the Java viewer screen. Next step is to setup a separate map server as we are still piggy backing off the UK one and that is under notice to get switched off...
