Dear Tenant,

Please take note that the Precinct’s electrical service provider will be conducting essential maintenance, including the replacement of relays and repairs to the switchgear.

Scheduled Details:
Date: Friday, 17 April 2026 – Saturday, 18 April 2026
Time: 21:00 – 04:00

Please take note of the following important information and precautions:


  *   All generators will be operational during the relay replacement and switchgear repairs.
  *   During this period, all electrical equipment, plug points, and switches must be treated as live at all times.
  *   Please ensure that all data is backed up in advance.
  *   Servers should be safely shut down or placed in safe mode where applicable.
  *   If you have UPS systems or alternative standby power sources, kindly ensure that they are fully functional and in good working order.

Substations that will be affected
Sub B1 (10 Melrose)
Sub B2 (‘STANLIB Building)
Sub B3 (3 Melrose Blvd)
Sub B4 (1 Melrose Blvd)
Sub C1 (African pride)
Sub C2 (Mezzanine)
Sub C32 (Building E2)

Relays to be Replaced.
Switch No 3= Sub B1 feeder. 21H00-22H00. Relay.
Switch No 4= Sub B4 feeder. 22H00-23H00.Relay.
Switch No 5= Sub C3 feeder. 23H00-00H00.Relay.
Switch No 6= Sub C1 feeder. 00H00-02H00.Relay.

Switch Gear Repairs.
Sub C1 (African pride) 01H00-02H00 / Motor ratchet.
Piazza Sub - 02H00 – 03H00 / Replace Bucholtz relay.
Consumer Sub - 03H00 - 04H00 / Replace limit switch.
