Nestled on the stunning Steenkampsberg Plateau near Dullstroom in Mpumalanga, the Tim Tilden-Davis Nature Reserve is a sanctuary for a variety of remarkable and rare bird species. Birds that have been observed on the nature Reserve include the Near Threatened Blue Crane, Near Threatened European Roller, Vulnerable Secretarybird, Vulnerable and Endemic Yellow-breasted Pipit, Endangered Grey Crowned Crane, Critically Endangered Wattled Crane, Endemic Cape Rock Thrush, and Endemic Greater Double-collared Sunbird.

The reserve isn't just about protecting birds; it's a dynamic hub where farmers, government agencies, and NGOs come together to create and implement innovative conservation practices. It serves as a vital link between the Verloren Valei Nature Reserve and the De Berg Conservancy, both recognized as Ramsar sites for their international importance. By connecting these areas, the reserve helps to shield a larger expanse from external threats, ensuring the health and diversity of its ecosystems for generations to come.
