  *   Regular Art Classes offered by Anastasia will be held in the Bistro every Tuesday and Thursday at 2pm. Residents can reap great benefits from art including improvement of cognition, sensory stimulation and sharpening memory. If you are interested, please contact Anastasia on 072 766 9573.
  *   Canasta Club, hosted by Jacky Orton, is held in the Clubhouse every Monday at 2.30pm. If you have played Canasta in the past, or enjoy playing interesting card games, come and join us, you will be very welcome. For Additional information please contact Jacky Orton on 3031.
  *   Movement and Dance Classes - Calling all residents who wish to keep active by learning a few dance moves. R50pp per class, every Monday at 5:15pm on the Lawn. For additional information, please contact Rene Esson on Ext 33103
  *   Anti-Ageing- class will take place every Monday morning at 11.30am and Wednesdays at 11.00am in the Bistro. R 50pp per class. If you are interested, please contact Pat on 083 366 2790. The Ageless Grace exercises focus on the healthy longevity of the body, mind, emotion and spirit. All exercises are practiced sitting in a chair and are movements that are natural and organic. Newcomers are welcome for a free class.
  *   Scrabble every Tuesday at 2pm in the Clubhouse. All welcome! For additional information, please contact Inez Gretton on Ext 3003.
  *   Stitch-in-Time - Meet, mingle and trade inspiration with residents who enjoy knitting, crochet, spinning, felt work, weaving, quilting, tapestry and needlework. Bring your own projects and have fun with a like-minded group. Beginning instruction provided by knowledgeable members at the start of session and you are welcome to ask others to share their knowledge and expertise. The group meets every Thursday. Please call Rene Esson on Ext 33103 for additional information.

Forthcoming Events:

  *   Bergvliet Pub Night to be held on Friday, 1 October at 6pm. Meet in the Clubhouse for our popular social event. Light snacks will be served. Please book at reception for catering purposes or to buy a book of tickets for R100.

  *   National Mad Hatter Day – Join us for a late afternoon tea with entertainment from The Companions on Wednesday, 6 October at 2:30pm in the Clubhouse. Get ditzy and wear a funny hat! R80pp. Please book with the Bistro on Ext 0200 by Friday, 1 October.

  *   Wine and cheese pairing brought to you by Fairview Wine Estate on Friday, 15 October at 3pm in the Clubhouse. R160pp. 8 of Fairview’s top selection wines paired with cheese and cured meat. Please book and pay with reception by Wednesday, 13 October on Ext 3200.

  *   Garden Lovers – Any surplus plants, or plants you would like to share, start repotting NOW so that we can share, exchange or give to someone else to beautify our gardens or balconies. It’s time to divide, slip or take cuttings now that Spring is here. Join us on Saturday 6 November at 10am in the Clubhouse. Even if you don’t have plants to share you might find something that’s just for you. Any enquiries, or if you need plastic pots for your cuttings or have any to spare, contact Jacky Orton on Ext 3031.

National Calendar Days

Housekeeping:

  *   Library – Please ensure that should you return a book that you place it on the table clearly marked. We sanitise all books prior to putting them back on the shelf. Your cooperation is appreciated.

  *   Speeding – There are regular speedsters in the village who ignore the 20km/h limit when travelling through the village. Some residents also ignore the one-way signs. We have put these traffic rules into place after consultation with residents to create traffic flow through the village and to protect the safety of those who enjoy walking.
Please respect the safety of your neighbours and obey the traffic rules and keep to the speed limit.

  *   Please also be reminded when walking your dog in our village, remember that it should be leashed. Also, it is important to remember to immediately clean up after your pet. Take along a baggie with you to pick up waste with and then dispose of it properly.
