Coming up this week: PLEASE ABIDE BY COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS/ NO MASK NO ENTRY:

  *   Regular Art Classes offered by Anastasia will be held in the Bistro every Tuesday and Thursday at 2pm. Residents can reap great benefits from art including improvement of cognition, sensory stimulation and sharpening memory. If you are interested, please contact Anastasia on 072 766 9573.
  *   Canasta Club, hosted by Jacky Orton, will be held in the Clubhouse every Monday at 2:30pm. Canasta is the most traditional and loved card game by all. It is an exciting mix of strategy, luck and skill. Beginners welcome. For additional information, please contact Jacky Orton on Ext 3031.
  *   Movement and Dance Classes - Calling all residents who wish to keep active by learning a few dance moves. R50pp per class, every Monday at 5:15pm on the Lawn. For additional information, please contact Rene Esson on Ext 33103
  *   Ageless Grace class will take place every Wednesday morning at 11am in the Games Room. R 50pp per class. If you are interested, please contact Pat on 083 366 2790. The Ageless Grace exercises focus on the healthy longevity of the body, mind, emotion and spirit. All exercises are practiced sitting in a chair and are movements that are natural and organic.
  *   Scrabble every Tuesday at 2pm in the Clubhouse. All welcome! For additional information, please contact reception on Ext 300 or Inez Gretton on Ext 103.
  *   Stitch-in-Time - Meet, mingle and trade inspiration with residents who enjoy knitting, crochet, spinning, felt work, weaving, quilting, tapestry and needlework. Bring your own projects and have fun with a like-minded group. Beginning instruction provided by knowledgeable members at the start of session and you are welcome to ask others to share their knowledge and expertise. The group meets every Thursday. Please call Rene Esson (Apt 103) on Ext 33103 for additional information.
  *   Alpha Course is a way to unpack the basics of the Christian faith in an updated and engaging way, led by Brenda Stauch (Unit 37). This is a 14-session course relating to Christianity starting from Thursday, 15 April 2021 at 10am in the Clubhouse. Please book with reception on Ext 3200. For more information, please see attached poster.
  *   National Sea Rescue Institute – Join us for a fun and informative talk presented by guest speaker, Tanya Meth accompanied by a Sea Rescue Volunteer. Hear real life stories on how these volunteers save lives on South African waters on Friday, 16 April at 9:30m in the Lounge. Please book with reception on Ext 3200 for seating purposes.
  *   Classical Music Evening on Wednesday, 21 April in the Clubhouse at 7pm hosted by Herman Poelmann. The following pieces will be performed: Mozart’s Symphony No. 38 (Prague), performed by the Chamber Orchestra of Europe conducted by Bernard Haitink & Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto played by Yuja Wang with the Verbier Festival Orchestra conducted by Yuri Temirkanov. Please book with reception on Ext 3200. Unfortunately, space limited to 12 residents due to social distancing. You are welcome to bring your own wine and refreshments.

National Calendar Day:

  *   Tuesday, 13 April is National Scrabble Day
  *   Wednesday, 14 April is National Gardening Day

Housekeeping:

  *   Library – Please ensure that should you return a book that you place it on the table clearly marked. We sanitise all books prior to putting them back on the shelf. Your cooperation is appreciated.
  *   Speeding – There are regular speedsters in the village who ignore the 20km/h limit when travelling through the village. Some residents also ignore the one-way signs. We have put these traffic rules into place after consultation with residents to create traffic flow through the village and to protect the safety of those who enjoy walking. Please respect the safety of your neighbours and obey the traffic rules and keep to the speed limit.
