As the ancient Greek Philosopher Heraclitus said "The only constant in life is change" - I am sure that nothing has been truer, taking the past twelve months into consideration

I wish to advise you that there have been some changes to our Evergreen Lifestyle Village Management team and the following changes have been put into place:

Jill Blignaut, Village Manager at Evergreen Diep River resigned and will be leaving the company at the end of the month to pursue her own interests in the UK.

I offered the opportunity to Christine Dempers, who has agreed to take over the role of Village Manager at Evergreen Diep River from Monday, 3 May 2021. She has been an integral part of the successes achieved at Evergreen Bergvliet under her guidance as Village Manager since 1 April 2014.

Shawn Ferreira will assume the role of Acting Village Manager, Evergreen Bergvliet. I have the utmost faith that he will manage this role responsibly until such time we have finalized a replacement for Christine.

In addition, I am pleased to announce that the General Manager of the AC Marriott Hotel (owned by the AMDEC group), Michael Liffmann has been seconded to Evergreen Lifestyle Villages for the next couple of months for three days per week, whilst the hotel remains closed. The hotel was forced to cease operating temporarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the freeze of international travel and visitors to Cape Town.

He will be based at Evergreen Bergvliet and will be a support to Shawn in the daily operation of the village.  Michael has years of experience in senior management within the hotel industry whilst working at iconic hotels such as The Cape Grace and The Westin, to mention a few and will offer insights to the operational aspects to the Evergreen Village group, as a whole.

I know that both residents and the ELV team have built up a good relationship with Christine over the past seven years and will miss her enthusiasm, passion and commitment to the operations of the Village. I trust you will take this opportunity of wishing her every success on her new path at Evergreen Diep River
