Coming up this week:

  *   Regular Art Classes offered by Anastasia will be held in the Bistro from Monday, 13 January at 2pm. Residents can reap great benefits from art including improvement of cognition, sensory stimulation and sharpening memory. If you are interested, please contact Reception on Ext 300 or register with Anastasia on Monday afternoon. No equipment required for the first 2 sessions.

  *   Our first Canasta club meeting, hosted by Jacky Orton, will be held in the Clubhouse on Monday, 13 January at 3pm to plan the group’s meeting in the future. Canasta is the most traditional and loved card game by all. It is an exciting mix of strategy, luck and skill.

  *   Gordon Epstein aka Gordon Rocker’s performance will take place on Friday, 17 January 2020 at 7pm in the Clubhouse. R70pp. Please book and pay with Reception on Ext 300 for catering and seating purposes by Wednesday, 15 January. Salty snacks will be served.

  *   Sunday Roast Lunch on Sunday, 19 January at 12:30pm. R180pp. Mrs Yvonne Whitford will be preparing Salmon Wellington, followed by Roasted Leg of Lamb, potatoes, ruby roast and seasonal vegetables; and for dessert Passion Fruit Lamington and coffee. Please book with Reception on Ext 300 by Thursday, 16 January. Should you require any further information please contact Yvonne Whitford on Ext 114.

Forthcoming events:

  *   Bergvliet Pub Night to be held on Friday, 24 January at 6pm. Meet in the clubhouse for our popular social event. Light snacks will be served. Please book at reception for catering purposes or to buy a book of tickets for R100.

  *   Residents interested in trying out bowls are welcomed to join Jacky Orton at the Meadowridge Bowling Club on Friday, 24 January at 1:30pm. No equipment needed, just a pair of flat shoes or barefoot. Please contact reception on Ext 300 by Thursday, 16 January to book.

Village Housekeeping:

  *   Village traffic flow: Vehicles are required to travel down the main road from guardhouse past the clubhouse, up to the apartments and out of the village in a circular direction. Please see attached diagram. We appreciate your cooperation.

Don’t forget to buy your Monthly raffle tickets which are available at reception. The next monthly draw will be held at the regular Social dinner on Tuesday, 28 January 2020.
