We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Peter Sampson (#71) on 3rd October and Nadia Jones (#47) on 5th October.

The choice of meal for the Social Dinner on Tuesday, 1 October in the Clubhouse at 6:30pm is a choice of either Thai Pork Kassler chops with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables OR Three Cheese Ravioli with creamy parmesan sauce and Greek salad with dressing. This will be followed by a Mini Fruit Pavlova, tea/coffee. R140pp.  Please book before 12-noon on Monday, 30 September. Bookings can be made with Sheila in the Bistro on Ext 200. Payment can be made on account, cash or credit card. You are very welcome to bring your own wine/refreshments.

Monday, 30/09         Beef Lasagna with Greek salad and dressing
Tuesday, 01/10        Lemon and coriander fish cakes with tartar sauce, potato wedges and seasonal vegetables
Wednesday, 02/10   Lambs liver with bacon and onion gravy, mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables
Thursday, 03/10       Crumbed chicken with spinach and feta stuffing, baby potatoes and seasonal vegetables
Friday, 04/10            Premium Meal: Fried Fish with tartar sauce, fresh lemon, chips and salad of the day

Coming up this week:-

  *   Movie Night on Saturday, 05 October at 7pm – Mary Queen of Scots. Queen of France at 16 and widowed at 18, Mary Stuart defies pressure to remarry. Instead, she returns to her native Scotland to reclaim her rightful throne. A stellar cast featuring Saoirse Ronan, Margot Robbie and Jack Lowden.
  *   Western Province Catering (WPC) will be hosting a lunch braai on Sunday, 6 October at 12:30pm in the Clubhouse. R180pp. WPC chefs will be firing up the meat and whipping up some delicious “braaikos”, salads and dessert. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments. Please contact reception on Ext 300 to book and pay in the Bistro before Thursday, 3 October.
  *   Ageless Grace class will take place every Wednesday morning at 10am in the Games Room. R 40pp per class.

Forthcoming events:

  *   Western Province Catering (WPC) have arranged a delightful free Showstoppers, a lunchtime music concert performed by a group of young, talented singers in the Bistro on Monday, 7 October at 12-noon, before lunch is served. Please confirm your attendance for this event or book lunch with Sheila in the Bistro on Ext 200 by no later than Friday, 4 October for seating purposes
  *   On Thursday, 10 October at 6:30pm, we will be hosting Quiz Evening in the Clubhouse.
  *   The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra presents CPO Spectacular, showcase for the brilliant singers, dancers and instrumentalist in our community. This will take place at the Artscape Theatre on Sunday, 20 October at 5pm. For more information or to book, please contact reception on Ext 300.
  *   Open Gardens Constantia 2019: Four diverse Constantia gardens each practicing sensible water management. Tickets bought in advance are going at R70 and at the gate, R80 – includes SOZO barista coffee or tea and eats. Event will take place on Saturday, 19 October from 9am till 5pm. Please book with reception on Ext 300. Shuttle available for outing at R30 pp.

National Day Calendar:

  *   Tuesday, 1st October is International Day of Older Persons
  *   Thursday 3rd October is National Poetry Day
  *   Friday, 4th October is National Golf Lovers Day

Don’t forget to buy your Monthly raffle tickets which are available at reception. The next monthly draw will be held at the regular Social dinner on Tuesday, 29 October.
