We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Bill Kirkwood (#30) on 25th September.

The choice of meal for the Social Dinner on Tuesday, 24 September in the Clubhouse at 6:30pm is either Butter Chicken with tomato sambals, basmati rice and seasonal vegetables OR Pork Medallions with plum sauce, garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. This will be followed by Chocolate Mousse topped with toasted nuts, tea/coffee. R140pp.  Please book before 12-noon on Monday, 23 September. Bookings can be made with Sheila in the Bistro on Ext 200. Payment can be made on account, cash or credit card. You are very welcome to bring your own wine/refreshments.

Monday, 23/09         Hawaiian Chicken kebabs with sweet potato wedges and seasonal vegetables
Tuesday, 24/09        Spaghetti Bolognaise topped with cheddar cheese served with Greek salad and dressing
Wednesday, 25/09   Sweet and Sour pork casserole served with parsley rice and seasonal vegetables
Thursday, 26/09       Chicken and apricot curry, tomato sambals served with rice and seasonal vegetables
Friday, 27/09            Premium Meal: Fried Fish with tartar sauce, fresh lemon, chips and salad of the day

Coming up this week:-

  *   Ageless Grace offers a free introductory class on Wednesday, 25 September at 10am in the Clubhouse. The Ageless Grace exercises focus on the healthy longevity of the body, mind, emotion and spirit. All exercises are practiced sitting in a chair and movements are natural and organic.
  *   Classical Music Evening will be held on Wednesday, 25 September in the clubhouse at 7pm. Hosted by Herman Poelmann the evening’s programme will feature Alma Deutscher: Dance of the Solet Mermaids, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Roni Porat and Tchaikowksy: Violin Concerto in D Major, Violinist Pekka Kuusisto. Performed at the Proms, Royal Albert Hall 2016. Please book with reception on Ext 300 for seating and catering purposes. Salty snacks will be available and you are welcome to bring your own wine and refreshments.
  *   Evergreen Care Launch - We invite you to join us for a presentation in the Clubhouse on Thursday, 26 September at 11am.  Tea and biscuits will be served. Please RSVP to reception on Ext 300 before 3pm on Wednesday, 25 September for seating and catering purposes. We look forward to answering any queries or questions you may have.
  *   Italian Evening will be held in the Clubhouse on Friday, 27 September. R165pp. A choice of Grilled Hake Italian Style served with polenta, stir-fried baby spinach, tomato and red onion and topped with parmesan OR Gnocchi topped with grilled chicken , parmesan and creamy pesto sauce. This will be followed by Tiramisu lady fingers dipped in coffee, layered with a creamy mascarpone filling and topped with cocoa. Please book and pay by no later than Wednesday, 25 September for catering purposes.

Forthcoming events:

  *   Movie Night on Saturday, 05 October at 7pm – Mary Queen of Scots. Queen of France at 16 and widowed at 18, Mary Stuart defies pressure to remarry. Instead, she returns to her native Scotland to reclaim her rightful throne. A stellar cast featuring Saoirse Ronan, Margot Robbie and Jack Lowden.
  *   Western Province Catering (WPC) will be hosting a lunch braai on Sunday, 6 October at 12:30pm in the Clubhouse. R180pp. WPC chefs will be firing up the meat and whipping up some delicious “braaikos”, salads and dessert. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments. Please contact reception on Ext 300 to book and pay in the Bistro before Thursday, 3 October.
  *   (WPC) have arranged a delightful free Showstoppers, a lunchtime music concert performed by a group of young, talented singers in the Bistro on Monday, 7 October at 12-noon, before lunch is served. Please confirm your attendance for this event or book lunch with Sheila in the Bistro on Ext 200 by no later than Friday, 4 October for seating purposes

National Day Calendar:

  *   Tuesday, 1st October is International Day of Older Persons
  *   Thursday 3rd October is National Poetry Day
  *   Friday, 4th October is National Golf Lovers Day

Village Housekeeping
- Health Clinic - we will be refurbishing the health clinic for three days next week (Wednesday -Friday) to freshen up the space and apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. Please call the clinic staff if you require any assistance on Ext. 202/206 or preferably dial **013.

Don’t forget to buy your Monthly raffle tickets which are available at reception. The next monthly draw will be held at the regular Social dinner on Heritage Day - Tuesday, 24 September, which is a public holiday.
