What’s happening next week: 28/10/2019 – 3/11/2019

The choice of meal for the Social Dinner on Tuesday, 29 October in the Clubhouse at 6:30pm is a choice of either Roast Pork Neck with apple puree, red wine jus, roast potatoes and seasonal vegetable OR Chicken Cordon Bleu with mushroom sauce, roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables. This will be followed by Apple Crumble with whipped cream, tea/coffee. R140pp.  Please book before 12-noon on Monday, 28 October. Bookings can be made with Sheila in the Bistro on Ext 200. Payment can be made on account, cash or credit card. You are very welcome to bring your own wine/refreshments.

Further to requests from residents, our weekly shuttle will now be from 10:00am (Tuesday Mornings). We hope that this will work out better for you. Please remember to reserve your seat with Reception on EXT 300

BISTRO Daily Lunch Specials:
Monday, 28/10         Hawaiian Chicken kebabs with sweet potato wedges and seasonal vegetables
Tuesday, 29/10        Salmon and Spinach quiche with roast baby potatoes and salad of the day
Wednesday, 30/10   Spaghetti Bolognaise topped with cheddar, with Greek salad and dressing
Thursday, 31/10       Bacon, Mushroom and Leek pie with potato wedges and salad of the day
Friday, 1/11            Premium Meal: Fried Fish with tartar sauce, fresh lemon, chips and salad of the day

Coming up this week:-

  *   Movie Night on Saturday, 02 November at 7pm – Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. The thrills are non-stop as CIA recruit Ryan (Chris Pine) is caught in a dangerous web of intrigue spun between his unsuspecting fiancée (Keira Knightley), a shadowy government agent (Kevin Costner) and a ruthless Russian criminal (Kenneth Branagh). Ryan must quickly evolve from analyst to full-fledged operative to stop a devasting terrorist plot against the United States.
  *   We invite all Bro’s to grow their Mo’s!  All Movembers Bro’s are to enter at reception, clean shaven on the 1st of November, where we’ll snap a before photo. Grow your ‘Mo’ until the 28th of November. The 3 best ‘Mo’ will be chosen at the Boerie Braai. Prize for the best ‘Mo’ is up for grabs.
  *   Variety Show on Wednesday, 27 November at 5pm in Evergreen Muizenberg Lifestyle Centre. Open to all residents and staff comedians, storytellers, mimes, dancers, musicians, poets, performers and show stoppers of all types eager to be, well, fun! Please sign-up by Friday, 1 November at reception on Ext 300. Snack dinner available on the evening.
  *   Western Province Catering (WPC) will be hosting a lunch braai on Sunday, 3 November at 12:30pm in the Clubhouse. R180pp. WPC chefs will be firing up the meat and whipping up some delicious “braaikos”, salads and dessert. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments. Please contact Sheila on Ext 200 to book and pay at the Bistro before Thursday, 31 November.

Forthcoming events:

  *   Market Day & Craft Display – this will be held on the 12th December at the Clubhouse.
  *   Giltedge International will be having a Viking River Cruise Presentation Thursday, 21 November at 11am in the Clubhouse. Please book at reception by Thursday, 14 November.
  *   The Graduate – As adapted for the stage by Terry Johnson on Thursday, 28 November at 8pm at the Masque Theatre. Tickets are popular so book up front.

National Day Calendar:

  *   Thursday, 31 October is Halloween Day.

  *   Saturday, 2 November is Day of the Passed.
  *   Sunday, 3 November is National Sandwich Day.

Village Housekeeping

  *   We have been experiencing problems with our entrance boom gate. We’re looking at options to resolve this as soon as possible.
  *   We are pleased to announce that preparations to install the generator will take place next week.

Don’t forget to buy your Monthly raffle tickets which are available at reception. The next monthly draw will be held at the regular Social dinner on Tuesday, 29 October.
