We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday on 3rd June to John Whitford (Unit 14); 4th June to Gill Cooper (Unit 10); 5th June to Lyn Law (Unit 38) and on 6th June to Julie Phillips (Unit 56).

Your choice of meal for our Tuesday Social Dinner in the  Clubhouse at 6:30pm is either Rosemary Roast Beef with red wine jus OR Fillet medallions both served with roasted potato wedges and seasonal vegetables. This will be followed with Pancakes filled with banana & cream. Tea/coffee. R140pp.  Please book before 12-noon on Monday, 3rd June. Bookings can be made with Sheila in the Bistro on Ext 200. Payment can be on account, cash or credit card. You are very welcome to bring your own refreshments.

Friday 7 June 2019 -  Fried fish with tartar sauce, fresh lemon, chips & salad of the day

- Movie Night - Saturday, 1 June at 7pm – Women in Gold - Maria Altmann (Helen Mirren),  an octogenarian Jewish refugee, takes on the Austrian government to recover artwork she believes rightfully belongs to her family. She did so not just to regain what was rightfully hers, but also to obtain some measure of justice for the death, destruction, and massive art theft perpetrated by the Nazis. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments. Please contact Paddy Fordyce on Ext 152 for any additional information. Our movie nights will be screened on first Saturday of the every month
- Men's Breakfast - Wednesday, 5 June in the Bistro at 9am - please join us for a hearty breakfast.
- Norval Gallery Outing- Thursday, 6 June - First Thursday  - an opportunity to visit the Norval Foundation Gallery in Steenberg. No entrance fee.

Forthcoming Events
- Grinnell Security Presentation on Monday, 10 June at 11am - Grinell will be hosting an awareness presentation around security issues and protocols for our residents as a safety
awareness campaign. It will cover some interesting topics and things to do or not to do in the event that you observe suspicious people, vehicles or activities. Tea will be served after the presentation. Please contact reception on Ext 300 and confirm your attendance for catering and seating purposes.
- Father Day Roast Lunch - Sunday, 16 June at 12.30pm - Please join us to celebrate Father's day at our traditional Sunday lunch in the Bistro. Booking required. Please call ext 300.

Village Housekeeping items:
-       FTTH – We have come across a blockage in one section of the line/conduit on the fibre installation which will require some remedial work. This should take place early next week. We will keep you updated.
-       Blackland Painters – The painting teams are working on finishing off and will be snagging units next week. In addition, Blackland will start working on the external walls of the clubhouse. It will be a bit messy and noisy for a day or two while they do the high pressure cleaning and cracks.
-       Excavation of entrance to apartment garage - The construction team are in the process of connecting water/sewer pipes and other lines at the entrance of the apartments between units 47/48 and will continue to work in this area on Monday.

We have a growing village, not only residents but also with new staff. I would like to announce that we have appointed a duty manager, Nomfundo Moletsane who starts on 01 June to ensure that the village is covered in the evening and on weekends. She has a hospitality degree and good hotel experience. She will go to HO and Muizenberg for her induction before coming though to the village on Thursday, 6 June. I hope you give her a warm Bergvliet welcome.
