We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday on 6th May to Charles Harrod (Unit 13) and Trish Smith (Unit 67) who celebrates her birthday on 7th May.

Western Province Catering (WPC) will continue with our traditional Tuesday Social Dinners at 6:30pm in the Clubhouse. We will be serving Beer Battered Hake OR  Roast Leg of Lamb with red wine jus, mint sauce served with roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables.  This will be followed with a Pavlova topped with Berry compote and tea/coffee. R140pp.  Please book before 12 noon on Monday, 6th May. Payment can be made by account, cash or credit card in the Bistro. You are very welcome to bring your own refreshments.

Residents continue to enjoy special lunches, delicious breakfasts, light meals and toasties every day. Please note that payment for all meals can be made by arranged prepaid accounts as well as credit card facilities of all meals at the Bistro for your convenience.
Movie Night on Saturday, 4 May  at 7pm – Eat, Pray, Love - Directed by Ryan Murphy. With Julia Roberts, Javier Bardem, Richard Jenkins, Viola Davis. A married woman realizes how unhappy her marriage really is, and that her life needs to go in a different direction. After a painful divorce, she takes off on a round-the-world journey to "find herself".
Elections – Wednesday, 8 May is Voting Day. Unfortunately the IEC has “lost” a few hundred special vote applications and we will  not be able to vote at the village, as previously arranged. Please vote at the Scout Hall on Ladies Mile (next to the Caltex Garage)

Village Housekeeping items:

-       FTTH – Frogfoot will continue to work next week to install the infrastructure and then it will be pulled through to each unit. The contractors will be digging up verges and pathways and towards the end will also require brief access to your homes to complete installation. They will install ONT’s (optical network terminal) numerically, i.e. Unit 1 – Unit 65 and we will arrange access with you timeously.

-       Blackland External painting – The painting team will complete Units 36-41 next week and commence work on Unit 48-57. Our Evergreen village team will be able to assist you with whatever you need. Please call me if you need help, have any queries or require any additional information at this stage.

-       Blackland Snags – The second Blackland team will continue to paint the darker bands around the windows and attend to the snags.  We have agreed to them working in the Village on Saturdays between 9am-3pm. No noisy work will take place.

-       Excavation of entrance to apartment garage - The construction team will continue to work on the excavation of the exit/entrance to the garage between units 47/48 and 64/65.

-       We are in the process of upgrading the power supply in the area and repairing the cable. The Pool Heat Pump is not yet working and the pool is not warm.

Lastly, I will be taking a short break next week from 8th May and will be return on Monday, 20 May. Shawn Ferreira, will take care of business whilst I am gone and he will be supported by Attie Schultz and Tiaan van der Spuy, newly appointed “Evergreeners”. Please do not hesitate to contact him for any assistance you need.
