We wish a very Happy Birthday to Paddy Ball (Unit 7) on 21 March and Colin Osborne (Unit 59) on 23 March.

Our Social Dinner on Tuesday, 19 March will start at 6:30pm in the Clubhouse. We will be serving Roast chicken breast with spinach and feta stuffing OR roast fillet of beef with red wine gravy both served with roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables. This will be followed with ice cream and chocolate sauce. R140pp. We kindly request that you book at reception or call Ext 300 by no later than Monday, 18 March at 12-noon. Please pay for your dinner by lunchtime on Tuesday. You are very welcome to bring your own refreshments.

Western Province Catering (WPC)
Our Bistro is picking up and we appreciate the patronage. Residents are enjoying the delicious breakfasts, light meals and toasties every day. We recently introduced a lunchtime special on Monday and Wednesday (see offering below). Please also note that WPC have arranged that prepaid accounts & credit card facilities are available in the Bergvliet Coffee Shop for your convenience.

EVERGREEN SUNDOWNER - Wednesday, 20 March at 5.30pm. Please don’t forget to rsvp to the invitation to attend the Evergreen Sundowner social evening in the Clubhouse with guest speaker, Christo Brand, Nelson Mandela’s warden on Robben Island and Pollsmoor Prison. He will share great stories about their time together. Drinks and snacks will served after the presentation. Please RSVP to reception on Ext 300 for seating and catering purposes. It promises to be a wonderful evening.

FREE MUSIC CONCERT – Saturday, 23 March at pm. - Airborne, a popular band formed in 1984 and a regular attraction at concerts around South Africa. They will be performing at Evergreen Bergvliet in memory of Elaine O’Connell, wife and mother of the founder of the band. Patrick’s family members are part of the band. It is an afternoon celebrating life and listening to some laid back sounds. Airborne play local smooth jazz and some great old time favourites. A braai meal will served (no charge) and you are most welcome to bring your own refreshments. All you need to bring is your liquid refreshment and folding chairs. The concert will be held on the lawn, weather permitting, at the clubhouse Please confirm your attendance for this event with reception by no later than Wednesday, 20 March for catering purposes.

Save the Date - Dutch Theme Evening – Friday, 29 March.

Balance & Tone Class – A reminder that the weekly group Balance & Tone class has commenced and will take place every Thursdays at 10am in the Games Room. Classes are R400 p/m. For more information contact Claire on 0832030309.

Village Housekeeping items:

-       Temporary Fence -  The construction team will proceed to erect a temporary vibracrete fence between units 47/48 to facilitate building of the entrance to basement garage at the Apartments. This will commence on Wednesday 20 March. Once erected, an electric fence will be put up and only once this has been completed, will excavation work commence.

-       External painting - Blackland Painters are now up and running with their programme of painting houses external walls. Work has started will move around in a chronological order. The painters will move to Unit 10-20 next week. Pot plants and precious items in your garden and around the house will need to be moved away from the walls in order to facilitate the cleaning/painting. Our Evergreen village team will be able to assist you with whatever you need. Please call me if you need help, have any queries or require any additional information at this stage.

-       Site Visit - A site-visit and survey of all houses within the village will be undertaken by Biff Lewis Geomatics Inc. between 18 March and 25 March 2019 from 08:00 to 17:00 on weekdays only. This forms part of our efforts to correctly record all building information within the village. Biff Lewis Geomatics Inc. staff may require access to the unit to ensure that everything is captured properly. In this event, we will contact you to make an appointment.
