We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Lidi Cummins (Unit 20) on 14th  June and to Felicity Walker (Unit 42) on 15th June.

Your choice of meal for our Tuesday Social Dinner in the Clubhouse at 6:30pm is a choice of Creamy Salmon & Fennel on Tagliatelle OR Peppered Beef Pie and Seasonal Vegetables. Dessert is Churro cup, ice cream and chocolate sauce and  tea/coffee. R140pp.  Please book before 12-noon on Monday, 10th June. Bookings can be made with Sheila in the Bistro on Ext 200. Payment can be on account, cash or credit card. You are very welcome to bring your own wine/refreshments.

Forthcoming Events:
- Grinnell Security Awareness Presentation on Monday, 10 June at 11am - Grinell will be hosting an awareness presentation around security issues and protocols for our residents as a safety campaign. It will cover some interesting topics and things to do or not to do in the event that you observe suspicious people, vehicles or activities. Tea will be served after the presentation. Please contact reception on Ext 300 and confirm your attendance for catering and seating purposes.
- Father Day Roast Lunch - Sunday, 16 June at 12.30pm - Please join us to celebrate Father's day at our traditional Sunday lunch in the Bistro. Booking required. Please call ext 300.
- Village Bring & Braai – Sunday, 23 June at 12h30 – Please join us for lunchtime braai at the clubhouse. Please bring and braai your own meat and drinks. The committee will provide salads, rolls and dessert. (R50)
- Residents Meeting will be held in the clubhouse on Monday, 24 June. Please make every effort to attend.
- Health presentation hosted by Unique Health on Wednesday, 26 June in the clubhouse: How to live to 100 – To find the path to long life and health, Dan Buettner and team study the world's "Blue Zones," communities whose elders live with vim and vigour to record-setting age. In his talk, he shares the 9 common diet and lifestyle habits that keep them spry past age 100. (Filmed at TEDxTC.)
- Bergvliet Pub Night to be held on Friday 28 June at 6pm. Meet in the clubhouse for our popular social event. Light snacks will be served. Please book at reception for catering purposes.

Village Housekeeping:

-       FTTH – We have investigated areas that need to have remedial work done outside of Units 34/35, 40/41, 55, and 60/61. We only need to work in the road. Trenching will be done in order to unblock the line/conduit to enable the fibre installation. We are not yet sure when the contractor will be on site, but we will be in keep everyone updated.

-       Blackland Painters – The painting teams are working on snagging next week and have indicated that they will be in the village until the end of June, when they aim to have completed their project. They are in the process of painting the external walls of clubhouse and we hope that they will be finished shorlty.

-       Apartments – The project team are hard at work preparing the Apartments for handover and we are all looking forward to them nearing completion.

-       Electric Fence - We are in the process of upgrading the electric fence in Barn Road (Units 65 and 29-32) which will be completed by next week.

-       Installation of LED Lights: We have started with the installation of LED lighting and are working through units 1 - 65 only. The installation must be undertaken before 21 June and will be managed by Danie van der Merwe, our in-house electrician. It should take approximately one/two hours per unit, depending on the number of fittings in each house. Reception will liaise with you to make an appointment at a time that is convenient. We propose that Evergreen Lifestyle Village undertakes the cost of labour for the installation and each resident undertakes to purchase the fittings. The charges are as follows: LED down lighter lamp and holder - R50 each; an LED dimmable lamp and holder - R83 each; and a dimmer module - R213 each. This charge will be added onto your levy account to facilitate payment. Please call me if you have any queries.

We would officially like to welcome Nomfundo, our new duty manager who is settling down well and will be on duty on this weekend between 8am-5pm (Saturday and Sunday). It  promises to be very cold this so stay warm and wrap up when going outdoors.
