Our choice of meal for the Tuesday Social Dinner on Tuesday, 23 July in the Clubhouse at 6:30pm is a choice of Pork Belly with plum sauce, mustard mashed potatoes OR Spinach and feta stuffed chicken roulade with red wine jus, roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables. This will be followed with Ice-cream topped with chocolate sauce and toasted nuts and tea/coffee. R140pp.  Please book before 12-noon on Monday, 22 July. Bookings can be made with Sheila in the Bistro on Ext 200. Payment can be made on account, cash or credit card. You are very welcome to bring your own wine/refreshments.

Monday, 22/07         Beef Kofta’s with tzatziki, savory rice and seasonal vegetables
Tuesday, 23/07        Crumbed Pork Strips on egg noodle with sweet and sour sauce and seasonal vegetables
Wednesday, 24/07   Beef Meatballs with tomato relish, mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables
Thursday, 25/07       Chicken and Mushroom tagliatelle served with salad of the day
Friday, 26/07            Premium Meal: Fried fish with tartar sauce, fresh lemon, chips and salad of the day

Coming up this week:-

-       Xmas in July Dinner to be held in the clubhouse on Friday 26 July at 7:00pm – Bookings can be made with Sheila in the Bistro on Ext 200. R165pp.  A welcome drink will be served on arrival. This will be followed with a three course meal: Creamy Biltong & Mushroom Soup; Roast Lamb / Honey Glazed Gammon served with tender stem broccoli & baby carrots. Baked Christmas Pudding with vanilla bean custard will be served for dessert.

-       Walk- About - Work on the apartments is almost complete and a viewing for village residents has been arranged for you on Wednesday, 24 July at 3:30pm. It is our intention to take accompanied groups of residents to view the new apartments before the final opening and sales launch on 30 July. Please put your name on the list at reception by no later than Monday, 22 July for catering purposes. We respectfully request that you do not enter the building unaccompanied as it is still a “working site” until it is officially handed back to us at the end of the month.

Forthcoming events:
-          Western Province Catering will be hosting an Evergreen Cook-Off at their Taste Kitchen in Cape Town on Tuesday, 6 August 2019.  An invitation has been sent out to all residents to enter in teams of two contestants. ONE lucky team from each village will be drawn on 21 July to compete against teams from other Evergreen Villages. It promises to be a really fun event. Choose your partner and complete the entry form available in the Bistro, to stand a chance of being drawn to represent Evergreen Bergvliet in the WPC Cook-Off.
-          Following the residents meeting held in June, it was decided to hold a Special General Meeting specifically to vote on the renaming of Mancom to Rescom at 2:30pm in the Clubhouse, as agreed, The SGM will be held in the clubhouse just before the AGM on Thursday, 01 August promptly at 2.30. The AGM will commence directly thereafter.
-         The AGM will be held in the Clubhouse on Thursday, 01 August 2019 at 3pm.

Village Housekeeping
- FTTH – Please note that the trenching and paving contractor, Waltons, has had further delays due to rain and blockages. They will continue to work on roads outside of Units 34/35, 55/56, and 60/61 next week. Gibela/Frogfoot will also be doing work during the course of the week in conjunction with the project. We envision that this should be completed by the end of the month. A notice will be sent when the installation is live, in order for you to inform your service providers to proceed.
- Village Shuttle – our weekly transport shuttle service to shopping centres (Meadow Ridge, Constantia Village and Blue Route as well as medical suites) is working well. Shuttle service is available on Tuesday (9am) and Thursday (1pm). Please book your seat with reception. A R20 nominal fee will be charged per passenger which can be billed direct to your levy account.
- Tree Felling – Please note that we have Topfell on site Monday morning, 20th July to remove the conifer tree next to unit 35/66 at the visitors parking opposite the Clubhouse. Topfell will do their utmost best to keep disruption to a minimal.

Don’t forget to buy your Monthly raffle tickets and tickets for the beautiful homemade and decorated Christmas Cake baked by one of our residents, Yolanda Bondsmith. Tickets available at reception. Cake Draw to be done on 26 July at the Xmas in July dinner and the monthly draw will be held at the Social Dinner on Tuesday, 30 July.
