We would like to wish a Happy Birthday to Toetie van Reenen (Unit 4) who celebrates her special day on Monday, 29 April and to Anne Jordan (Unit 23) on Sunday, 05 May.

Our final Social Dinner on Tuesday, 30 April with Rambling Rose will start at 6:30pm in the Clubhouse. We will be serving Roast fillet of beef served with a red wine gravy OR Roast chicken with lemon and herb stuffing served with roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables.  This will be followed with a Lemon meringue pie and tea/coffee. R140pp.  Please book before 12 noon on Monday, 29 April.   Payment can be made with reception on Tuesday morning.  You are very welcome to bring your own refreshments.

BISTRO Lunch Specials – R48.00 pp
Monday, 29 April                     Mozzarella & thyme stuffed chicken wrapped in bacon and served with a mushroom sauce on creamy mash and roasted seasonal vegetables.
Thursday, 02 May                   Butter chicken curry served basmati rice and seasonal vegetables and poppadoms.

Western Province Catering (WPC) - Residents continue to enjoy special lunches, delicious breakfasts, light meals and toasties every day. Please note that payment for all meals can be made by arranged prepaid accounts as well as credit card facilities of all meals at the Bistro for your convenience.

Please make a note to book for our monthly Men’s Breakfast to be held on Thursday, 02 May at 09h00.  A full English breakfast will be served. R70 per person.
Movie Night on Saturday, 4 May  at 7pm – Eat, Pray, Love - Directed by Ryan Murphy. With Julia Roberts, Javier Bardem, Richard Jenkins, Viola Davis. A married woman realizes how unhappy her marriage really is, and that her life needs to go in a different direction. After a painful divorce, she takes off on a round-the-world journey to "find herself".
Our monthly Lucky Draw is a way to raise funds by the Village Entertainment Committee to provide live music, décor and a variety of items for the benefit of resident functions.  One ticket costs R20.00 /three tickets cost R50.00. The draw sheet is available at reception.

Bingo Evening on Friday, 3 May at 6pm. Please join us for a fun-filled Bingo evening in the clubhouse. A light supper will be served. You are welcome to bring your own liquid refreshments.
There will be some lovely prizes on offer. Please call reception on Ext 300 to book for catering and seating purposes

Balance & Tone class has moved from a Thursday morning and from 01 May will be held every Wednesday morning at 10am in the Games room

Village Housekeeping items:

-       FTTH – We are excited to announce the installation of FTTH to our Evergreen Village. Frogfoot will be in the village next week to install the infrastructure and then it will be pulled through to each unit. This project will take approximately three weeks. The contractors will be digging up verges and pathways and towards the end will also require brief access to your homes to complete installation. They will install ONT’s (optical network terminal) numerically, i.e. Unit 1 – Unit 65 and we will arrange access with you timeously

-       Blackland External painting – There has been a delay with the painting contract and the painting team will complete Units 18-35 next week and work on Units 36-41 and 58/59. Our Evergreen village team will be able to assist you with whatever you need. Please call me if you need help, have any queries or require any additional information at this stage.

-       Blackland Snags – Another Blackland team have joined up to paint the darker bands around the windows and attend to the snags.  In order for them to meet their deadline we have agreed to them working in the Village on Saturdays between 9am-3pm. No noisy work will take place.

-       Excavation of entrance to apartment garage - The construction team will continue to work on the excavation of the entrance to the garage between units 47/48.

-       The Pool Heat Pump is not yet working and the pool is not warm. We are in the process of upgrading the power supply in the area and repairing the cable.

The DHL Stormers will be up against old foes, the Vodacom Bulls in a Vodacom Super Rugby North-South derby at DHL Newlands on Saturday. We wish them luck!
