What’s happening next week: 09/07/2018 – 15/07/2018

We would like to wish the following residents Happy Birthday: 9 July - Yolanda Bond-Smith (Unit 46) and 13 July - Elaine Doyle (Unit 12).

Our Social Dinner on Tuesday, 10 July is at 6:30pm in the Clubhouse. We will be serving a choice of Crumbed pork sirloins served with apple sauce & rosemary sautéd potatoes and seasonal vegetables or Chicken Tettrazini (chicken breasts in mushroom, sherry sauce with toasted almonds) served with spaghetti followed by a Sherry Trifle. We kindly request that you book at reception or call Ext 300. Booking and payment is required by no later than 12pm on Monday, 9 July. Unfortunately, NO late bookings can be accepted and there will be no refund in the event of a no-show.

-       Movie Night will take place this Saturday, 7 July at 7pm. Hampstead – an American widow (Diane Keaton) living in the London suburb of Hampstead and a reclusive man (Brendan Gleeson) living on Hampstead Heath form an unlikely alliance against unscrupulous property developers in the neighbourhood. It is loosely based on the life of Harry Hallowes who claimed squatter’s rights to a patch of ground in Hampstead Heath. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments. Please contact Paddy Fordyce on Ext 152 for any additional information.

-       The Lunchtime music concert will feature a series of concerts of women performers on Wednesday, 11 July at 12-noon.  Quiche & salad will be served in the Bistro during the interval. Cost R45pp. You are welcome to bring your own wine and refreshments.

-       Sunday Roast Lunch on 15 July at 12.30. Booking can be with Mandy at Reception on Ext 300.

-       Our next Pub Night will take place on Friday, 20 July in the Clubhouse. Please join us for this social occasion and get-together. Light snacks will be provided. Books of 10 tickets at R50 can be purchased from the office or from Jean or Yolanda on Tuesday night. Call Jean van Rhyn (Ext 149) or Yolanda Bond-Smith (Ext 146) for further information.

We will be celebrating our mid-year Christmas in July theme dinner in the clubhouse on Friday, 27 July at 6:30pm for 7:00pm. R165.00 per person. Please bring a wrapped gift to the value of R50.00 for a woman or man to hand out as a Secret Santa gift to a fellow resident for some Yuletide cheer. Please book and pay for dinner with Mandy at reception on Ext 300.  We kindly ask that you book and pay by no later than 12-noon on Monday, 23 July for catering purposes.  No-shows or cancellations after this date will have to be charged.

Lastly, we will be servicing the fire extinguishers on Thursday, 12 July. We kindly request that you leave your bottle outside your front door/gate in the morning. Joseph and Muneer will collect these on Thursday morning and return to you the same day.
