What’s happening next week: 19/02/2018 – 25/02/2018

We would like to wish Myrtle Goss a very Happy Birthday on 19th February and Veronica Lamson on 22nd February. We would also like to welcome Brenda Hill ,our new resident who moved in Unit 2, we trust you will all make her feel welcome.

Our Social Dinner on Tuesday, 20 February is at 6:30pm in the Clubhouse. We will be serving a choice of Grilled hake with shrimp& caper butter and new potatoes OR Veal marsala served on herbed tagliatelle.  This will be followed by Milk tart & fig coulis with cream and coffee/tea. We kindly request that you book at reception or call Ext 300. Booking and payment is required by no later than 12pm on Monday, 19th February. Unfortunately, no late bookings can be accepted and there will be no refund in the event of a no-show. Paddy Ball will be having drinks in memory of his late wife Bettye and invites you to join him in the dining room before dinner between 6pm – 7pm.

You can still book for Sunday Roast Lamb Lunch on 18th February at 12h30. R165 per person. Please call Yvonne Whitford on Ext 114 by Saturday. Please note that the Clubhouse Bistro is open for lunch, Monday to Friday from 10:30 – 2:30pm, except on Tuesdays. No booking required. Yvonne Whitford will serve many favourites including an all-day breakfast, light lunches and salads as well as toasted sandwiches. For the sweet tooth, a cake of the day will be offered as well as a limited selection of hot and cold beverages.

Telecare will be doing a presentation on the Emergency Call procedure and will answer any questions you have. Please meet in the Clubhouse at on Tuesday, 20 February at 10h30.

Movie Night on Saturday, 24 February is “Viceroy’s House” - New nations are rarely born in peace... India, 1947: Lord Mountbatten (Hugh Bonneville) is dispatched, along with his wife Edwina (Gillian Anderson), to New Delhi to oversee the country's transition from British rule to independence. Taking his place in the resplendent mansion known as the Viceroy's House, Mountbatten arrives hopeful for a peaceful transference of power. But ending centuries of colonial rule in a country divided by deep religious and cultural differences proves no easy undertaking, setting off a seismic struggle that threatens to tear India apart.

Diarise Sunday, 25 February for a  Summer Bring & Braai at lunchtime. Salads and dessert will be provided. R60 per head. Friends & Family welcome. Bookings open next week.

Some housekeeping:

-       As mentioned last week, the civils company working in Barn Road will be moving our boundary wall into the village by approximately one metre this week. We have already moved the flower boxes and latte fences on the main road.

-       Topfell will be coming through on Monday morning to cut down three overhanging branches at the village entrance that pose a safety hazard to our residents. Please be patient when you access/exit the village.

Forthcoming Events:

-       IT Coffee Break has been scheduled for Monday, 26 February at 10h30am

-       Unique Healthcare will be doing a presentation in Clubhouse on Wednesday, 28 February at 3pm. Tea will be served.

-       Men’s Breakfast will be held on Thursday, 1st March
