What’s happening next week 18/09/2017 – 24/09/2017

We would like to wish the following residents a very Happy Birthday:  Ian McDonald: 18th September and Jill Newton: 22nd September.

Our Social Dinner on Tuesday, 19 September is at 7pm in the Clubhouse. We will be serving a choice of Pork fillet in a cream and mushroom sauce OR Baked fish with olive and anchovy sauce served with seasonal vegetables and sauté potatoes. Followed by Tiramisu & coffee/tea. We kindly request that you book and pay Amanda on Ext 300 by no later than 12pm on Monday, 18 September. No late bookings can be accepted and there will be no refund in the event of a no-show.

Please join us for Movie night featuring Going in Style, which will take place on Saturday, 16 September at 7pm. Three seniors, who are living social security cheque to cheque and even being reduced to eting dog food at times, decide that they have had enough. So, they plan to rob a bank…the problem is, they don’t even know how to handle a gun! You are welcome to bring your own refreshments. Please call Elda on Ext 155 if you wish to attend.

Music night will take place on Wednesday, 20 September. The first part of the programme is Dvořák’s Cello Concerto. The cellist being Mstislav Rostropovitch, one of the world’s greatest cellists performing with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. This will be followed by the second part of the programme - Mozart’s Symphony No.36 (“Linz”) performed by the Vienna Philharmonic conducted by Carlos Kleiber. You are welcome to bring your own wine and refreshments on the evening. It is a well-supported night and we encourage you to call Herman Poelmann on Ext 115, if you would like to attend, for catering (salty snacks) and seating purposes.

Don’t forget the Quiz evening will take place on Thursday, 21 September at 7pm and promises to be loads of fun! Team of 4 will battle it out and compete for prizes. A light meal will be served (Homemade Quiche and Salad) R40pp served from 6pm. Please contact Andréa on Ext 300 to confirm your attendance for seating purposes.

Forth coming events

  *   Our Coffee Break IT Workshop will take place on Monday, 25 September at 10:30pm. Meet Kyle Knight, our technology specialist in the Clubhouse and chat to him about and the benefits of smartphones and anything else you need clarity on.
  *   Our Black & White Themed Dinner will take place on Friday, 29 September at 7pm. Call Andréa on Ext 300 to book.

Remember to let the office know If you are going away for a few nights or on holiday so that we can inform Telecare.
