What’s happening next week 15/05/2017 – 21/05/2017

We would like to wish the following residents a Happy Birthday: Ursula Keanly 19th (Unit 11) and 21st Elda Diana-Oliaro (Unit 55).

Our Social Dinner will take place on Tuesday, 16 May at 6:30pm for 7:00pm in the Clubhouse. We will be serving a choice of Chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce OR Crumbed pork steaks with apple sauce served with sauté potatoes & seasonal veg. This will be followed by a trio of ice-cream with chocolate sauce & toasted almonds and coffe/tea. We kindly request that you book and pay Andréa on Ext 300 by no later than 12pm on Monday, 15 May 2017. Unfortunately, no late bookings can be accepted and there will be no refund in the event of a no-show.  Please make every effort to pay and sign for your meal by Tuesday morning.

The Music Evening will take place on Wednesday, 17 May at 19h00. Please contact Herman Poelmann on Ext 115 if you would like to attend.

Movie night will take place on Saturday, 20 May at 19h00.. Remember - With the aid of a fellow Auschwitz survivor and a hand-written letter, an elderly man with dementia goes in search of the person responsible for the death of his family. Starring Christopher Plummer. Please contact Elda on Ext 155 if you would like to attend

Sunday Roast Lunch will be held on 21 May in the clubhouse from 12:30pm. Fish cakes will be served as a starter followed by roast lamb and mint sauce, roast potatoes & seasonal veg. Followed by baked apple & cream. Please book with Andréa at reception on Ext 300 by no later than Friday, 19 April. Cost: R150 per person.

Forthcoming Events

  *   Our Coffee Break IT Workshop will take place on Monday, 22 May at 10:30pm. Meet Kyle Knight, our technology specialist in the Clubhouse and chat to him about and the benefits of smartphones and anything else you need clarity on.
  *   As you may be aware, Melomed Tokai Private Hospital has opened its doors within the Tokai area. Their newly launched facility houses 148 beds and can comfortably accommodate patients at any time, providing a wide spectrum of specialist services including cardiology, d radiologists and a pathcare lab. Melomed has instituted an after-hours emergency service, allowing the surrounding community immediate access to medical care. Melomed Tokai would like to talk to residents about their multi-disciplinary services and 24-hour ambulance service with a presentation at our village on Thursday, 25 May at 15h00 in the clubhouse. We encourage  everyone to attend. For seating purposes, please book with Andréa on Ext 300.
  *   Our month-end theme Dinner is “Western Cowboys” will be held on Friday, 26 May – Hee Ha!

The Gym is operational and the renovation of the clubhouse should be finished soon. We will keep you posted on the progress.
