What’s happening next week 23/07/2017 – 30/07/2017

Our Social Dinner will take place on Tuesday, 18 July at 6:30pm for 7:00pm in the Clubhouse. We will be serving a choice of Steak & kidney pie OR Chicken & Mushroom Lasagna with roasted tomatoes and rosemary, parsley potatoes & roasted vegetables with honey glaze. This will be followed by pancakes topped with bananas, caramel sauce & cream and coffee/tea. We kindly request that you book and pay Andréa on Ext 300 by no later than 12pm on Monday, 17 July 2017. No late bookings can be accepted and there will be no refund in the event of a no-show.

Xmas in July will take place in the clubhouse on Friday, 28 July – R150 per person. Potato Leek soup with smokey bacon will be served as a starter followed by Glazed Gammon with apple sauce, mustard & gravy plus Roast Chicken with a lemon & herb stuffing and gravy, roast potatoes, caramelized onions, baked pumpkin & creamed spinach. This will be followed by Mince Pies & Coffee.

A reminder that there is a beautiful traditional home-made Christmas Cake on display at reception which is being raffled for R30,00 per ticket. The draw will take place at the Xmas in July dinner. Your support is appreciated.

The Movie night featuring Allied, will take place on Saturday, 22 July at 19h00. In this WWII spy thriller, a Canadian airman Max Vatan (Brad Pitt) and French Resistance operative Marianne Beauséjour (Marion Cotillard) pose as a married couple for a dangerous mission in Casablanca.  Their cover story soon leads to an actual love affair and their starting a family together, but Max's happiness is shattered when he's told that he must take part in an investigation to determine whether Marianne is really a double agent working for the Nazis. Please contact Elda on Ext 155 for any additional information and to confirm your attendance for seating purposes.

Our Coffee Break IT Workshop will take place on Monday, 24 July at 10:30pm. Meet Kyle Knight, our technology specialist in the Clubhouse and chat to him about and the benefits of smartphones and anything else you need clarity on.

Don’t forget the Oldies but Goldie’s show happening on Sunday, 30 July at 4pm at Evergreen Muizenberg. The first set will be 45 minutes followed by a 20-minute interval, followed by a second set of 45 minutes. The cost is R50per person. Kindly RSVP to Andréa on Ext 300 by Wednesday, 26 July if you wish to attend.

  *   Please diarise to attend the Evergreen Bergvliet AGM which is to be held in the clubhouse on Thursday, 24 August at 3:00pm
  *   Just a reminder that we are planning to hold an Arts & Crafts display on Saturday, 9 September. Please diarise this date. We can accommodate more tables for residents to display their Art/Craft and it promises to be an exceptional display. Should you wish to display your hobbies, crafts or artwork please contact reception as Felicity Walker is on holiday until 17 August.
