What’s happening next week 13/02/2017 – 19/02/2017

We would like to wish the following residents a Happy Birthday: 18th Lynne Wilms (Unit 43), 19th Myrtle Goss (Unit 33).

Our Social Dinner will take place on Tuesday, 14 February at 6:30pm for 7:00pm in the Clubhouse. We are serving a choice of Roast Fillet of Beef OR Roast Chicken with stuffing both served with gravy, roast potatoes & seasonal veg. This will be followed by Chocolate ice-cream & chocolate sauce. We kindly request that you book and pay Andréa on Ext 300 by no later than 12pm on Monday, 13 February 2017. Unfortunately no late bookings can be accepted and there will be no refund in the event of a no-show.  Please make every effort to pay for your meal by Tuesday afternoon. In this way we can be sure to give the correct instructions to Rambling Rose and thereby ensure that everyone is happy with their meal choice.
We are very excited that our take-away orders have rapidly increased so we have introduced take-way containers that will cost an additional R5. Going forward, we will no longer be using our crockery for take-away orders.

Don’t forget Movie Night tomorrow, Saturday 11 February at 19h00. The Dressmaker tells a story of the beautiful and talented Tilly Dunnage (Academy Award winner Kate Winslet). After a few years working as a dressmaker in exclusive Parisian fashion houses, Tilly returns home to a town in the Australian outback to reconcile with her eccentric mother Molly (Academy Award nominee Judy Davis). She aslo falls in love with the purehearted Teddy (Liam Hemsworth) and armed with her sewing machine and haute couture style, Tilly transforms the women of the town, exacting sweet revenge on those who did her wrong. Please contact Elda on Ext 155 to confirm your attendance. Pop-corn and refreshments will be served, you are welcome to bring your own refreshments as well.

The Music Evening will take place on Wednesday, 15 February at 19h00. The first part in our programme will feature Beethoven: Symphony No 8 in F Major performed by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by Christian Thielmann. This will be followed by Rachmaninov: Piano Concerto No.3 in D Minor performed by the Verbier Festival Orchestra and conducted by Yuri Temirkanov with as pianist Daniil Trifonov. You are welcome to bring your wine and refreshments on the evening. Please call Herman Poelmann on Ext 115, if you would like to attend for catering and seating purposes.

We are very excited about our second Sunday Roast on 19 February hosted by Yvonne Whitford. The delicious menu includes Ham & Asparagus in a hollandaise sauce, Roast Lamb & Roast Potatoes, Roasted Butternut & Feta, Green beans, Courgettes & almonds. This will be followed by fresh fruit salad & ice-cream. The cost is R135 per person. Please book with Andréa on Ext 300 by no later than Friday, 17 February.

We look forward to our next Coffee Break IT Workshop that will take place on Monday, 20 February at 10h30. Meet Kyle Knight, our technology specialist in the Clubhouse and chat to him about any tech issues you may have and he will try to assist.

  *   Ageless Grace takes place every Thursday morning at 10:00am – come and try this amazing movement class yourself and see how it works.
  *   Quiz Night will take place on Thursday, 02 March at 19h00 in the clubhouse. A light supper will available at 6:00pm. Please book with Andréa on Ext 300 to secure your place.
  *   A presentation on interpreting and understanding dreams by clinical psychologist, Malcom Pillay will take place in the clubhouse on Wednesday, 01 March at 15h00. Please book with Andréa on Ext 300 to confirm your attendance for seating purposes.
  *   Lucky Draw - R50 buys you three raffle tickets for the monthly lucky draw to be held on Tuesday, 28 February!
