What’s happening next week 14/08/2017 – 20/08/2017

Our Social Dinner will take place on Tuesday, 15th August at 6:30pm for 7:00pm in the Clubhouse. We will be serving a choice of Sweet & Sour Pork with Jasmine Rice OR Grilled Hake with a Garlic & Herb butter served with sauté potatoes & seasonal veg. This will be followed by fresh Fruit salad & ice-cream and Coffee/Tea. We kindly request that you book and pay Andréa on Ext 300 by no later than 12pm on Monday, 14 August 2017. No late bookings can be accepted and there will be no refund in the event of a no-show.

The monthly Music Evening on Wednesday, 16 August. The first part of the programme is Dvorak’s Cello Concerto. The cellest being Mstislav Rostropovitch, one of the world’s greatest cellists performing with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. This will be followed by the second part of the program – Mozart’s Symphony No. 36 (“Linz”) performed by the Vienna Philharmonic conducted by Carlos Kleiber. You are welcome to bring your own wine and refreshments. Please call Herman Poelmann on Ext 115 if you wish to attend.

The Movie night featuring Beauty and the Beast, will take place on Saturday, 19 August at 19h00. The fantastic journey of Belle (Emma Watson), a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast (Dan Stevens) in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castles enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realise the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within. Please call Elda on Ext 155 if you wish to attend.

The Sunday Roast lunch will take place on Sunday, 20 August at 12h30. Please call Andréa on Ext 300 if you wish to attend

The Darling Wildflower Show village outing will take place on Friday, 15 September. Please note that payment of R220 secures your booking. The trip is subject to a group of 28 residents participating and includes bus transport and one entry ticket. Should you wish to join the group, contact Andréa on Ext 300 to book and pay for your ticket by no later than Monday, 21 August.

Forthcoming events:

  *   Our Coffee Break IT Workshop will take place on Monday, 21 August at 10:30pm. Meet Kyle Knight, our technology specialist in the Clubhouse and chat to him about and the benefits of smartphones and anything else you need clarity on.
  *   Our monthly Themed Dinner will take place on Friday, 25 August. Please book with Andréa on Ext 300 if you would like to attend.
  *   Please diarise to attend the Evergreen Bergvliet AGM which is to be held in the clubhouse on Thursday, 24 August at 3:00pm. Notices should be sent out next week.
  *   Our  Arts & Crafts Fair will be held on Saturday, 9 September. Please diarise this date. We can accommodate more tables for residents to display their Art/Craft and it promises to be an exceptional display. Should you wish to display your hobbies, crafts or artwork please contact reception as Felicity Walker is on holiday until 17 August.
