We would like to wish the following residents a Happy Birthday: 21 September, Roy Joynt, Unit 64); 22 September, Jill Newtown (Unit 61); 24 September, Claude Davis (Unit 31) and 25 September, Bill Kirkwood (Unit 30).

This week, our Tuesday night social dinner will take place on 20 September at 6:30pm in the Clubhouse. We are serving a choice of homemade Fish Cakes & tartare sauce or Homemade Meatballs in tomato sauce with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. This will be followed by Fresh fruit salad served with vanilla ice-cream and coffee/tea. We kindly request that you book with Andréa on Ext 300 by no later than 3pm on Monday, 19 September.

Don’t forget our Movie Night on Saturday 17 September is “First Wives Club” at 19h00 featuring the comedy trio – Bette Midler, Diane Keaton and Goldie Hawn who portray mid-life Manhattanites who have more than a longtime friendship in common. After years of helping their hubbies climb the ladder of success, each has been dumped for a newer, curvier model. But the trio are determined to turn their pain into gain. Please call Elda Diana-Oliario on Ext 155, if you wish to attend, for seating purposes.

The Music Evening is to be held on Wednesday, 21 September at 7pm. The evening will feature Lucas and Arthur Jussen, two very talented young Dutch pianists in a piano recital consisting of three Sonatas by Beethoven and one four handed piano piece by Frans Schubert. Please call Herman Poelmann on Ext 115, if you would like to attend – this is for catering and seating purposes. You are welcome to bring your own wine and refreshments on the evening.

As of next week we will be serving Toasted sandwiches (R20): Cheese, Cheese and Tomato, Cheese and Ham in the clubhouse or pop-in at any time and have a cup of coffee/ and cake.

Please diarise our Namaqualand Dinner which will be held in the clubhouse on Friday, 30 September at 7pm. It is a wonderful evening to celebrate the beginning of spring. The menu includes Smoked snoek paté and chicken liver paté with sherry & green peppercorns served with assorted breads;  Traditional tomato bredie served with parsley rice and seasonal vegetables and followed by a Van der Hum bread & butter pudding served with ice cream. The cost is R135 per person. Please book with Andréa on Ext 300.
