What’s happening next week 28/11/2016 - 04/12/2016

 We would like to wish Koos Human (Unit 45) a Happy Birthday on Tuesday, 29 November.


-       Our Social Dinner will take place on Tuesday, 29 November at 6:30pm for 7:00pm in the Clubhouse. We are serving a choice of Bangers & Mash with onion gravy or Hake Veronique served with mashed potatoes & seasonal vegetables. This will be followed by Homemade honey & nut ice-cream and coffee/tea. We kindly request that you book with Andréa on Ext 300 by no later than 12pm on Monday, 28 November 2016. Unfortunately no late bookings can be accepted.

-       “The Conversation Project” - If you wish to get together with a group of people who share a desire to have a conversation with loved-ones to convey your wishes for end-of-life care and who welcome the support of others then please join us on Wednesday, 30 November at 10:00am for a presentation on how to start your own conversation.

Forthcoming Events:

-       Lucky Draw - R50 buys you three raffle tickets for the monthly lucky draw!

-       Ageless Grace takes place every Thursday morning at 10am – come an try this amazing movement class yourself and feel the benefit.

-       Please diarise the Village Year-End Function which is to be held in the Clubhouse on Friday, 9 December at 7:00pm, cost: R150 per person. We are serving smoke salmon tartlets with a dill and cucumber salad; Roast gammon with mustard sauce, roast chicken with a lemon & herb stuffing and gravy, roast potatoes, peas and carrots & caramelised onions and yellow rice with raisins. Please book with Andréa on Ext 300 by no later than Monday, 05 December 2016.

In addition, we are doing a special Christmas gift drive for our designated village charity, HOPE HOUSE and appeal to all residents to buy a small toy for a child between the ages of 0-12 years.  Please place your gift in the box provided at reception and be sure to identify the present with a small label, including information on whether it’s for a boy/girl and age. This will make it easier for distribution by “Santa” to the children. We will be handing these over to Hope House via Veronica Lamson, Unit 57, by no later than Wednesday, 14 December.

As you all know we currently have a "no gift" policy with regards to our staff at Evergreen Villages. However, as pointed out in the circular sent our earlier, this policy is relaxed over the Christmas period and we accept voluntary contributions to a "Christmas Fund" that will be managed by two members of Mancom and which will be distributed equally amongst the village staff. Please hand in your contributions to Andréa at reception. Just a note to all residents that Evergreen Bergvliet will be treating all our staff to a Xmas braai function on Thursday, 15th December in the Clubhouse from 12h30 – 15h00.

Please be advised that there will be an interruption to your electricity supply on Thursday, 08 December from 08h00 to 17h30. (See attached letter)

Lastly, have you made every effort to reduce your water consumption. Every drop counts!
