What’s happening next week 21/11/2016 - 27/11/2016


-       Our Tuesday night Social Dinner will take place on 8 November at 6:30pm for 7:00pm in the Clubhouse. We are serving a choice of Butter Chicken or Beef Curry served with jasmine rice, tomato & onion salad, bananas in yoghurt, sweet chilli paw paw & chutney. This will be followed by Sweet melon & vanilla ice-cream and coffee/tea. We kindly request that you book with Andréa on Ext 300 by no later than 12pm on Monday, 14 November 2016. Unfortunately no late bookings can be accepted.

-       Don’t forget the Coffee Break IT Workshop that will take place on Monday, 21 November 2016 at 10am. Meet Kyle Knight, our technology specialist in the Clubhouse and chat to him about any tech issues you may have and he will try to assist.

-       Get creative this week and join our Colouring-In Morning on Wednesday, 23 November at 10am. Crayons and Colouring sheets will be provided. Coffee, Cake and toasted sandwiches can be ordered. Gather together for a morning of fun and sharing.

-       Our exciting Variety Show takes place on Friday, 25 November at 18h00. It is a Bring & Share, please book and pay R60 to Andréa at reception or call ext. 300. It promises to be a wonderful and enjoyable show with professional artists as well as residents and friends. Make sure that you don’t miss out on our last entertainment night of the year.

Forthcoming Events:

-       “The Conversation Project”  - If you wish to get together with a group of people who share a desire to have a conversation about end-of-life care and who welcome the support of others then please join us on Wednesday, 30 November at 10:00am for a presentation on how to start your own conversation.

-       Lucky Draw - R50 buys you three raffle tickets for the monthly lucky draw!

-       Please diarise the Village Year-End Function which is to be held in the Clubhouse on Friday, 9 December at 7:00pm.

In addition, we are doing a special Christmas gift drive for our designated village charity, HOPE HOUSE and appeal to all residents to buy a small toy for a child between the ages of 0-12 years.  Please place your gift in the box provided at reception and be sure to identify the present with a small label, including information on whether it’s for a boy/girl and age. This will make it easier for distribution by “Santa” to the children. We will be handing these over to Hope House via Veronica Lamson, Unit 57, by no later than Wednesday, 14 December.

As you all know we currently have a "no gift" policy with regards to our staff at Evergreen Villages. However, as pointed out in the circular sent our earlier, this policy is relaxed over the Christmas period and we accept voluntary contributions to a "Christmas Fund" that will be managed by two members of Mancom and which will be distributed equally amongst the village staff.  This will take place at our Xmas staff braai on Thursday, 15 December. Please hand in your contributions to Andréa at reception.

Lastly, have you made every effort to reduce your water consumption. Every drop counts!
